I got a new syringe and then adhered the remaining trim pieces to the case. I'm currently waiting for the paint on the driveplate to finish drying but otherwise this project is completed. I'll have some more photographs of this machine setup in a while.
Looking great. When you first showed the design I was a little skeptical, but it turned out great. Can we get a pic next to a ruler or something to truly get a sense of the size?
Size comparisons per request: roughly 12 x 8.25 x 3 inches. Mmmm, Root Beer. Just a smidgen taller and a tad deeper.
That's an awesome case! Those white plate [yea..] accents are rally neat. I like geometric stick outs [or whatever you want to call them]. very wicked
The previous set of photos are of the completed machine, including the repainted DVD-ROM faceplate. However, it's so dark that the camera can't represent any of the detail on it. It's really hard to see in person as well so I got the effect I wanted. Here's a final picture of the machine with all of it's current peripherals (minus the scan convertor which ends up behind the TV anyways). I'll get around to replacing the green LED in the AC Power Brick eventually. And this machine will also get a new mouse, LCD monitor, and video card when the time comes. My favorite features of this machine are 1. It's deceptive and unrecognizable as a computer. 2. The "eye" is eery looking whether the machine is turned on or not. 3. The appearance of the case changes ALOT depending on the light level of the room. In daylight you can see all the way through the case, but in lower ambient light levels you can't see anything but black. 4. It's small, but still adaptable enough to meet future needs.
