    30% extra performance... that you won't notice over you're existing 850 PRO/EVO, let alone a 960.

    Not Samsung's fault, mind. But it'd be nice to see some tangible, real-world benefits of these fast NVMe drives.

    The evo will likely be in my next build. It should be a noticeable improvement over my Samsung 830. Looking at the specs I see almost no benifitial in the pro.

    Nice to have a bit more write performance transferring between a few of my NVMe drive is held back a bit by this even raided but really want to see it dropping to £100 a Tb and some bloody big ones rather than more speed :D One day.

    Samsung has got in touch with UK recommended retail pricing for the drives, which is as follows: 970 Evo 250GB, £100.79; 970 Evo 500GB, £193.79; 970 Evo 1TB, £375.79; 970 Evo 2TB, £709.99; 970 Pro 512GB £275.79; 970 Pro 1TB, £526.79 (all inc. VAT).

    I'm more interested in the increased life span to be honest. Storage is something I keep for years, even if it's downgraded to back up drives or NAS boxes etc.
    eg my NAS box currently has 2 x 250GB Samsung Spinpoint HDD's that must be getting on for ten years old.
