Scythe Co., Ltd (Tokyo, Japan) announces the "black-coated" and "copper" versions of its "original" designed Memory Cooler, Kama Wing. The design is originally made by the Scythe engineer to increase the heat spreading area as well as an "angled" design to minimize the interference with components installed on the motherboard. 2 thermal sheets are included to increase the cooling performance. Black version is all aluminum made with electroplated in black color & copper version consists of 100% genuine copper, and includes 2pcs (1 set) as a value for money package! *************************************************************************** Model Name: Kama Wing (Black), Kama Wing (Copper) Model #: SCKW-1000BK (Black), SCKW-1000CU (Copper) Manufacturer: Scythe Co., Ltd. Its really not going to do that much, seeing as most performance RAM comes with heat-spreaders anyway, and RAM without heatspreaders (BH-5 and stuff aside) isn't usually OC'ed to the point where its going to need extra cooling above the case's airflow.
There's a fair deal of micron DDR2 that wasn't sold as "performance", but when you can pay PC4200 prices for D9GKX? Hello. Besides, this puts a heat dissipating wing in the way of airflow to your performance heatsink, thus helping cool the ram
If i found 4x1GB Sticks of well clocking "value" ram which was bare, and these sinks prove to offer some form of cooling performance, then yeah. wedging fans is a PITFA
You'd be looking at over £25 for four of these and when you can get something that not only works, but looks fricking cool like the OCZ RAM Cooler for under £15...
