I've found a really good deal on a laptop (well I think it's good lol) and I'm wondering if you guys think I should go along with it Here is the item http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271047402218?item=271047402218?_trksid=p5197.m462 The things I'll be using it for include internet browsing, watching youtube and possibly gaming but I'm not sure what kind of gaming I could get on this? is CS:GO a possiblity or is that too far? or if there's something around the same amazing price, say 350 being max can u recommend me one? thanks!
Almost certainly won't run CS:GO at all. for internet, Youtube and maybe TF2 at a push it should be fine!
Okay guys I found another one what do u guys think of this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-Aspi...t=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item3a793235c7
Unfortunately that deal is supposed to end yesterday, but I'm not sure about ebay rules, if it has a buy it now button you should be able to get it for that price. The 630M comes in 3 flavours but all of them will be more powerful than an onboard solution. I can't see you getting much faster for that price. The benchmarks on the page itself don't say what settings the games are running at. I'd presume not the highest.
Hmmm what about this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-Aspi...t=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item20ca9bb394
Looks like the same laptop but for more, it's the same model number but Acer do update their models every now and then with better components. Graphics performance will depend on which flavour of GT630 they have used.
Sounds like a horrible deal compared to the one I posted lol the processor given doesn't even have turbo boost unless you pay extra and by that point its already well over 600 for a 11.6 inch screen and a somewhat better graphics card lol. Deders the one i posted has 8gb ram and turbo boost to 3.1 ghz on the cpu Is there seriously no better deal than this? lol I dont mind if its refurbished, anyone?
Check this out http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/range/novatecheliten1503.html?th=g More here http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/gaming/?th=g Not sure if your budget stretches.
I recommend the Novatech one too; I have a similar one, order it without the OS and buy it seperate with a student liscence or discount from your work if you can
The nice thing about the one I mentioned is its got a Hybrid hard drive in it. For Windows booting and commonly used apps they load just as fast as an SSD although you get 500gb storage behind it.
Cool thanks guys I'll definitely look into this...sounds like a really good deal, question though would the lack of a quad core limit me on some games...like battlefield 3 for instance.
The graphics card will always be the limiting factor... for <£600 you will not be able to play BF3 at all....
To be frank, though, the graphics card is always going to be limiting factor in laptops - unless you go for one of the stupidly expensive Alienware laptops.
