Hey all, been viewing the forums here now for quite some time and up until now have not had the need for any advice... things change however... Anyway as the story goes I had to bin my gtx 580 due to financial reasons, and fall back to the trusty gtx 460. Now I'm contemplating a gpu upgrade. PC is used for gaming @1920x1080. System Specs: i5 760 3.7 Antec Kuhler 920 8gb ddr3 msi p55a g55 gtx 460 antec 300 64gb Crucial m4 2tb WD Green 2tb Black 3x 120mm case fans OCZ modxtreme pro 500w Now im downgrading from a DF-85 and a 1250w psu (Overkill I know). Now the main question is whether or not the Modxtreme 500w has enough juice to power a 660ti and all the components stated above above or would i be better off with a standard 660(when available in BC, Canada) or AMD equivalent.. budget is $300CAD (roughly 200GBP??) (...misses gtx 580 ) thanks
It should easily cope, your potential machine has a similar spec to mine and I've measured from the wall with Furmark and Prime64 running and I still have 100W headroom. Games don't draw anything like as much power.
