anyone in the uk give spotify a try? been using it for the past 14 days and its great. I just need to go back to the uk so i can reactivate my account
I tried it, but didn't get along with it... It needs some kind of recommendation engine to get you started or something similar. Especially for people who've spent any amount of time working on playlists in other programs. In iTunes I've got my musics just how I like them. I wasn't about to start all over again.
Yeah I use it. There's a big playlist from the other forum I frequent that is generally full of punk rock, 80s metal, and comedy 90s pop songs and kids tv themes. Perfick thing to leave running and discover new music. It just irritates me that it's not integrated with iTunes, especially seeing as the media keys on my MBP control both, so I have to quit iTunes when I'm using spotify and vice versa. If there was some way that it could be written as a well integrated iTunes plugin (maybe even with a way of setting up a sub-library of Spotify music that is accessed via the exact same interface as your offline library), I would be completely smitten. As it is I just think it's reasonably cool.
i just like the ability to have all my music w/o storing it on the hdd, before i lost my music collection is a pc related fire it was up too 100 gigs. Its also nice not to have the questionable copies and remixes from something like playlist.com just good album copies. Is there an alternitive out there like spotify but not last.fm?
Does anyone have a spare invite? It sounds rather good. The quality isn't too bad either, 160K ogg is better than Pandora was and miles better than last fm
Got my invite, thanks edit: after a good first impression - the music loads quickly, you can play what you like etc, it has gone down hill. Partly this is due to my expectations of it being Pandora-like but it doesn't have some of the artists I want, so far Metalica and Arch Enemy. That doesn't bode too well really.
i like it so far has alot of stuff i looked for like deep purple and alot of rockabilly/psychobilly that most other places dont seem to have, i like how you can make permanent play lists rather than just having it pick random stuff for you.
Ok, I've decided it's quite cool. Collaborative play lists are an ace idea. Anyone got any good indy/rock/alternative ones? I'm getting sick of the 'hilariously' tacky 80's nostalgia ones.
Fully paid up member here, I love it. Just sign up again, it's a free for all system now. No invites needed any more
Could anyone recommend some good playlists? Nearly all the sites I've been to for searching them are convoluted or just plain crap
Lets start one! http://open.spotify.com/user/william.b/playlist/7n41wCD0e6KBGO5wVtHYqM Does that work?
bump, but all spotify users NEED to listen to this album, now. http://open.spotify.com/album/6RGmWoOnLTzSdnKbFjAV8v don't just look at the album title and go elsewhere. i suggest you start with SOS. it's hilariously epic. *horns*
