take a look at orac, and off the shelf acrylic cases... they use corner blocks most of the time, made out of clear acrylic (or the colour of the rest of the case)

The other alternative is to go completely industrial, get some angled steel, or aluminium, and bolt through that...

you COULD get specialist glues for acrylic, they usually melt the plastic a little so when you contact them they fuse together, if you want the totally clean, no visible fixings look... bear in mind that that can be messy and one spill on your good surfaces will ruin them :)

I am doing the same thing right now, i just got my acrylic as a matter of fact. The days i have spent reading up stuff on making acrylic cases can probably be measured in days, not hours.

The most common way is to buy a special acrylic glue. The most widely used one for this is "IPS Weld-on #4". It breaks the acrylic bonds and reforms them giving you a really tough bond, supposedly stronger than the acrylic itself.

There are many alternatives as to how to connect HDDs and CDroms to the acrylic. You could get long screws that can get from the outside of the case all the way to the HDD, its a plausible possibility but i havent done it myself. What is easier is to get some more acrylic, 4 small sheets, and make your own disk cage, which in turn can be glued on the main acrylic frame. You could also use a single piece of acrylic and bend it to make a cage. Use the search feature on finding topics about how to bend acrylic, there is even an article on bit-tech. I suggest making some other supportive structure to complement the glue, maybe throwing a couple of screws in just for good measure.

What i am doing in my project is that I'll get some acrylic rods that are suspended from the "roof" of the case to hold the drive cage.

Other things you have to remember is that you will have to cut blowholes for the PSU fan, and also make a hole for the connectors on the back of your computer. You could make holes for each individually, or just cut a large rectangle for all. I strongly suggest that you read

    and

You cant built one without having read them

For conecting plexi you can use chloroform. If used well you can create invisible connections between sheets of plexi. The only thing about chloroform is that it is toxic and it was used to get people under narcosis. Search the internet and you'll plobably find some guides, but again, never use chloroform without any experience or guides/tutorials.
