Used one? I still have one!! It's got a 16k brick on the back held on with blu-tak Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man I wish I had kept it - had a brown plastic folder with about 10 programs to type out photocopied from someone at dads work. Jeez that was a long time ago!
Had a zx81 which sadly died but still got the zx spectrum around somewhere. My first introduction to programming really and its somewhat older than me, wonder if our computers now will last that long and still work.
Wow. Just wow. I thought my Amstrad was nerdy! Whenever I see any of those type of computers now, I'm really tempted to dig it out and play BombJack! What a classic.
never even heard of one, but what a fantastic machine, and without meaning to hijack this here thread or sounding like a total n00b but can someone tell me how to do a poll? :|
Had one, i even wrote a program and used all 1k memory up, was well chuffed. Anyone on here ever buy it in kit form and solder components to board etc etc?
Never had a ZX81. The first computer I used was a teletype connected to the local college mainframe in 1981 - I wrote "Battleship" for it. The first desktop computer was a 12K Acorn Atom at that college a year later. Then I started buying them in about '84. A 48K Spectrum A BBC Model B An Acorn A3010 An Acorn StrongARM RiscPC (Still got this working) Since then I've had a PC, but a bit of a "Trigger's Broom" as the kids say. It began as a P3 450MHz Slot 1 in a full tower case, but over the last 10-12 years has morphed into my sig.
Zx81 was good, but only real pc, even to date to excite me, Is the Amiga. Pcs pretty sucky, but hey no more Amiga as such, so thats why i got into modding, dont like using pcs that much, but good base to mod. I think prob mostly kids/youngsters on bit tech? going by the votes so far.
