I recently bought a 4870x2 card, I cleaned all the ATI drivers off my system etc. etc. downloaded the latest drivers and installed. I have both cores showing up and it they show up correctly in CCC one as primary and one as linked adapter. The problem is the second core always sits idle and I can't seem to get it too use it. I know it may not be support in all games but I can't get anything to use it even 3dmark! Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I would drop an e-mail to AMD tech support and ask them directly, I know on Nvidia drivers in the past it had an option to use either one Core or both, and how to split the workload between the two (split frame rendering, alternate frame rendering, etc.) There should be an option somewhere in Catalyst I would hope.
AH! Here we go! http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/ATICatalyst109Hotfix.aspx Give 10.9a a go.
Got the second core working but... The card never seems to work at max? The second core goes to about 20-30% in games no higher, So in games like cod4 I cannot hit the magic 250 fps Any ideas what could cause that? I turned ULPS off already.
I know that ^ but it does make a difference Anyways it doesn't really matter about what I can or cant see it should still be doing it
