Hi guys, I bought a Nexus 7 from a friend a few days ago, after I actually wanted to install a Navigaton software. Unfortunately, this has not worked.

Then an idea came to me. I could build a radio out of it.
To the tablet still comes with a 4.1 system in the housing.

First I then looked times if there is an app that I like about it.

... And Tata... : D

So set times back and a pair of designs scribbled out.
The first would have been in the same style as the Sky receiver. This has given me but then did not like because it just would have been only a copy.

So I created the design number two steered in a different direction.
The outer frame should also be made of solid oak.
The front panel is made from 5mm thick a rusted iron plate again.
There was but when drawing a scale of 1:1 then changes. These then later.

Here I have used a cardboard box to determine what size I need.
In the case I must also point the subwoofer also pay again has the same volume.
The 4 satellite, side by side, I will put in the front, but only ever 2 Connect the front channels. The surround speakers connections I will lead back to the outside and then to build another 2 satellite which, like the radio in the same style.

Here are we recorded the 4 speakers. and 2 time pattern buttons. But since I'm something else Grab, have there been something in my head.

Now that's one of the speakers.

http://bilder.betzpatrick.de/modding/ce_mods/50sRadio/50sRadio_007.jpg [/ img]

From my wife I got time 4 doses of skin care products. These are made of solid plastic and can be shortened to 2 cm in height and is used as feet. These are then illuminated red.

[Img]http://bilder.betzpatrick.de/modding/ce_mods/50sRadio/50sRadio_008.jpg

Here jetz the 1.1 drawing.
The line between the speakers and the displa should be a bend in the metal. The front makes as a bend backwards.

This time with applied hardware.

Tomorrow I'm going to get ready for the oak

I again thrown on the pile of my plan.
And the case is now not solid oak, but the front and back, then glued an oak frame which is rebated on a sheet of plywood on it and then on oak veneer.
This has the background, because the wood would be forgiven strong at 3cm thickness and probably will be very difficult.

Now I'll have to get time this week for materials.

After the Bequiet Case is finished except for the defective pump can I turn back to my radio.

Now there was no oak but Zebrano.

In February I had already the wood worried that I cut yesterday.

I also make time to Ali and had a worried me a little plywood: D

Next we went to the blank of the frame timbers ...

... and the subsequent gluing.

Today I then transferred the outer Kunturen using a template.

Then I did it then cut with a jigsaw.

However, it has then been found that this is not optimal in so thick wood. Since it was missing from one side to the other in some cases more than 5mm.
Then so I had the electric planer, I have stretched to the table at a 90 degree angle to get, first time working the wood rough.

The finer points I made with the belt sander.

So, the first part is finished.

At the earliest on Thursday it continues then, and I hope that I get exactly the same way also the second part.

I like this, I've been thinking about doing a similar thing with a raspberry pi. I just never seem to get the time. I'll keep an eye on this, what app did you use just out of interest

So, next we went to the mill the fold for the plywood boards.

At first I had gemaint I could also use plain plywood, but was disabused.
Therefore, I have then only times must order bending plywood.
But since it Hies then also can turn this only up to a radius of 10 cm
I've managed that it has 1cm radius. : D

In addition I have glue applied and shot the plates with the electric tacker.

Such was then completely.
Then I have everything sanded flush.

When I had at that time concerned the Zebrano I have found the tone of the match at all.

I then ever looked how it looks when it's lubricated.
Also unsuitable.

So I did it once pickled and oiled.
Fits not quite so final is then pickled and oiled a 2nd layer, then it could match the hue.

Now I must then but first bring the veneer as beautiful to rounding. ;)

Thank you.

Now the next update finally arrives. And it does not fall out small :)

First I cut the front about 3 degree angle.

It then looked for 3 cuts.

Next, I made the drive for the loudspeakers.
Marking ...

... Boring ...

... And with the holes for the screws once screwed all speakers.

The subwoofer comes in an extra box that is inserted into the radio, thus the speakers without isolation have the rest of the radio as a sound box.
Or should I re-build a plywood box now, so
the each speaker is individually encapsulated. Do you think it must be, or would that even work that way?

Tentatively times clamped pure.

Next we went to the panel for the tablet.
For that I have Black Higloss Plexiglas used the remains of the Bequiet.
So penciled everything and looking forward to the tiller ...

... And diligently cranked. :)

The edge I still chamfered.

When I finished I was really pleased that it has become so beautiful ... then came the. :(

So again on the tiller and refinished.

Then I have the Tablet times fixed quite professionell :)

And of course sometimes clamped pure.
So you want then look times. Up still comes speaker cloth over it.

At the bottom of the timber come buttons so that I can then use the volume and power button.

In addition, I still have broken the subwoofer, which gets a new home.
I must then rebuild the speaker sits to the longitudinal axis.
Do you think he still works the same way, the volume of course I would maintain?

The next step would then be the subwoofer box to build.

Thank you.

I have now built only times the subwoofer, unfortunately I had him but now do differently. But I think he has become quite well.

First i created the body.

This is simply pushed it from behind.

Among the speakers still minimal space. I will stiffen the front panel only once and then see how it sounds. If it does not fit I'm building another enclosure for the but then something goes down.

Next we went to the electrical components of the 4.1 system. #
The only times I've shared in 2 parts.
The heatsink must indeed stand out, the connection blind but inward.
A power connector konnt a new pure.

Then I cut the back cover of the subwoofer, then the cut-out for the heat sink.

Here then the cut-out for the connection panel.

On the panel I have to get sealing tape stuck to the subwoofer even close.

This page I have also glued directly.

Here you can see that I must then extend the cable. But I have to but then still a holder come dasse, not the then chattering all the time.

The back of the body has then get a rebate for the rear wall.

These then came a Betoplan plate.

The heatsink I cut full size of the Betoplan plate. Thus, this is a little bit sunk.

Last but not least, I then glued the lid off the subwoofer plate even with the Betoplan.

Tomorrow I will still need a cardboard tube with 5cm inside diameter procure for the bass reflex tube.

Yesterday I was once at the hardware store shopping.
I've still got a substance used for the radio, but I'll be there able to find at the hardware store, I would not have thought.

The place mats are now made of plastic.
Once in Weis and even in gray, because I did not know what looks nice.

I also have found screwed inserts, brass screws and a few buttons.
Always a few of the buttons is then built into a composite. In the smaller button I will glue a brass inlay.

At home, I then only once tested which fabric is beautiful.

Here you can see easily show through the loudspeakers. But that was previously always so, so I think it's actually quite chic.

The combination with the black Plexi also like it very much.

The Gray has conductors not so fit, so going back again.

Next we went to the bass reflex tube.
For this I used a cardboard tube from a wrapping film.

At first, I then made a test hole.

Then I was able to incorporate into the final part of it then.

Unfortunately Betoplan is broken plate. I must now consider something like that to me I cover. Have you got an idea? [/ B] [/ color]

It continued thereafter with the holes for the screwed inserts ...

... and the corresponding holes in the rear wall.

Then I've also turned all pure brass screws.

That's it for today again.

Today I picked up the electric something.
First off, I have the cable extended I can attach the lid decent.

Then I separated the 220V switch on the board and the 2nd Potti desoldered which then comes to the other side of the tablet.

At first I wanted to make the volume control on the right side, but there unfortunately went the connection blind in the way to.
Hence it is now to the left.
Since the board is too long but I had to cut a hole in the subwoofer. Since then comes back inside a small box.

It continued with the rotary knobs. This I once edited a bit more radical.
First, the supernatant back cut and ground flat with the belt sander.

Then rausgedrückt on the front of the lid and a hole drilled for the small button inside.
Only with 10mm and then go to the step drill 16mm

Then I was able to unscrew the knob on it already.

So, that's again today.

In We-Mod-It me these buttons were suggested.
Have now 2 purchased by the knobs.

But I have built trotzden the 2nd button also finished yet.
But given I had only once build a mount for the Potti.
For that I have just taken a piece of Plexiglas, drilled and cut a hole in. The Potti I then glued in with superglue.

The whole I simply glued to the front panel and the second button mounted daruf.

Next we went to the housing of the speaker. This I have also made plywood.

Between now come then even walls. But go with the problems going on, there are no air 4mm between the speakers. Are 2-3mm max. I must let me think of something.
The rear I glue then only with silicone on so that I then get down again if something breaks should go.

and test it out.
We see it with the cables already more than just to go.
That's why I ordered RCA angle.

Here is complete as it should once ausschauen finished.
Only the wooden outer rum is then dark.

On the back, we went to the power connector on.
First make the cut.

Again, I revert to the brass screws, so I had to drill out the holes and countersink deeper.

Came again threaded bushings into the wood. It would have been even wood screws, but that I like better :)

fits perfectly.

Then I soldered the cables.
Mirhat then but not like that the solder joints are open, so I made it a cover.
Do not be surprised that the ground is not soldered. This is not required, since neither the transformer is an earth, and the outer housing also no conductive parts has.

Tomorrow I will continue with the wiring.
One can see in the last picture even what it at the other end of the cable
