News Android to get paid-for apps

Google is set to introduce paid-for content to the Android Marketplace - with developers getting a 70 percent cut of the proceeds, and carries taking the remainder.

 

One of the operator's major gripes is they get no money from the apple ap-store, yet it eats up their bandwidth. As such, they've beem a bit cagey about offering flat-rate subscription fees for data as they get no benefit. This might really shake things up, as flat-rates actually encourage more downloading, so the operators earn more in the long run.

Very smart move by Google.
