Okay, so this is a very nice 1080, but at £600 it's just very expensive when you could pick up a 1080Ti for not much more. Okay, that 1080Ti might not be quite as refined as this design, but in terms of bang-per-buck this is not the best - a £630 1080Ti is 5% more expensive and around 30% faster.

I also think you've glossed over the size issue a bit - sure, there are lots of cases out there that can accommodate such a monstrous card, but having to buy a new case just to fit in an expensive GPU isn't ideal when you're already dropping £600 on a 1080.

All in all, this is a very nice card and an impressive technical achievement, but as a value proposition it just doesn't make any sense.

Yeah I agree, £600 for a 1080 is just a silly buy when the Ti is available.

I mean yeah, great overclocking chops, but you'll run into those hard power limits before you can even come close to making up the deficit in Cuda cores - and that's before you factor in the OC'ing potential of the Ti.

And triple slot coolers should be resigned to the sin bin indefinitely. Absolutely no need on current manufacturing processes.

Asus..lol, legends in their own minds.

I wonder how sales on their £320 1060 11Gbps are going...

Oh, definitely. I have an ideological hatred of triple-slot coolers, and an even greater hatred of cards that protrude miles beyond the top of the PCIE i/o bracket - this card is ridonculously big in all three dimensions, which is not to my liking at all :D Great if you've got a massive case but rubbish if you want something a little less gargantuan!

Yeah, another £40 will buy a card that beats the living sh!t out of this one.

Keep up the great work Asus - no, don't listen to the critics, you're doing just fine. Morons.

Yet another £600 card fails the Deus Ex 4K test.
    Terrible value.

I'll admit I have a soft spot for the Strix cards - my 970's have done me proud for compute work.

But pretty much what everyone else said; £600? If you can afford that, you can afford the touch more money for a Ti.

That's more to do with the terrible optimisation of the Gfx engine behind the game, rather than the cards capabilities.
