    Seems like an odd decision, is the cost of B550 boards that much more that you would want to buy a new B450 board today?

    From what I've seen, B550 does seem to be a fair markup over a similar B450 board. PCI-E 4 has some rather exacting requirements. If you don't want/need a PCI-E 4 NVMe drive, I can see the appeal for saving some money.
