Just how much better is the weather forecasting now? :D You can actually see what is going on right over where you are!

I used to god damn hate those stupid 'cloud' symbol things that they would place over the main regions, they pretty much told me nothing.

edit - piccy of crappy symbols (left) and new (right):

I liked it back when they had the little cut outs of the symbols and had to stick them on the map as they went :D

That'll be the MET office's new NEC super computer then. Although at a paltry 1.9 TFlops, I still think I could do better!

...and I still remember the time when Bill Giles had problems with the word "FOG", and apologised at the end of the broadcast for the "F in fog"

(...it helps if you say it out aloud... :hehe: )

Do people still actually watch weather reports? I always found them rather useless, I mean it's not like the weather ever changes much in this country, it's either rain with possibilty of sun. Or sunshine with a possibility of rain.

Meh I'll stick with forecastfox and my window.

Apparently, if you say "The weather tomorrow, will be the same as today." you'll be right 75% of the time. Seems like good odds to me.

Apparently it shows differences in light/shade better than green does.
(so you can tell where it's sunny/cloudy)

If it's 0 degrees today, and they say it's going to be twice as cold tomorrow, what temp will it be?

    -17.77777777777778 degrees Celsius. :)

The new weather is alright. I like the little shiny ball at the start of the weather program, though, the rest isn't really that pretty. :(
