This is not meant to be an arty image - just showing the insane capabilites of DSLR with a 1:1 macro lens :D

Pictured is my GTX470 last week when I started to take the Thermalright stuff off; the red box is the location of the second image, which is a 100% crop - detail is astounding. :thumb:

Canon 5D and Sigma 105mm f/2.8 (and, importantly, a 580EX II for key light)

To avoid confusion, the second image is not a crop of the first :D

    Why thank you :D

    Getting better, no clingfilm? :p

But still something seems weird about the focus...

Nothing exceptionally good, a FujiFilm Finepix S5600 (Bridge, fixed lens). Lots of noise, so I'm getting a 40D and tamron 90mm macro soon :)

I kind of know what you mean about the focus. It's there but not in the right position sometimes? Now then, it seems that I'll be the only person without a macro lens, you all make my D50 feel inferior.
Nah, it's a bloody good camera considering it's pretty old. The stupid thing is, there's a 200mm macro lens with a 52mm nikon fitting just lying around in my form. I might nab it, they're not using it.

What shutter speed were you using? The most recent images you posted don't look out of focus to me, just a bit shakey.

If you are taking macro with slow shutter speeds, you need a tripod and timed shutter release to eliminate camera shake.

Have one mate, they were very quick photos. It's doesn't help that my arms act like jelly.

Precisely - which outlines the main advantage of using timed shutter release: you ain't touching the camera when it takes the picture :D

I need to work on my macro chops again...it's great fun!

Wow, like you said, the board is good for photos!
Got some pictures of my new vengeance blue, on a A2 piece of paper like Dj suggested. They look great!

^ Looks like you need to give your sensor a bit of a clean bud, there's some big dust spots visible in your pics (top-left corner and middle-right)
