I have the p4p800 deluxe motherboard and it has the ICH5R onboard chipset.

ASUS provides a driver for it on their site but I checked Intel's website and they have a new ICH5R driver.

I installed Intel's version last night on a fresh windows 2003 install and everything started crashing and I got weird errors etc.

Just wondering, why isn't the driver from intel compatible? Is it possibly because the ICH5R chipset on my board maybe a "modified" version by asus?

I downloaded the RAID driver VIA 6410 from VIA and it worked fine (it's newer than the one from ASUS) so I dont see why the chipset driver could cause issues

Did you install the right driver from intels site? The one for 2003, non 64bit?

Are you installing the .inf drivers? The 7.2.2?

The VIA driver is for something completely different, it has nothing to do with Intel's i865PE/ICH5R.

Yes....however I'm not EXACTLY sure what I installed lol (it was 1am).

Could you point me to the right file from the intel site? On my mobo manual it says I have South Bridge (ICH5R), North Bridge 82865PE
