Another track day at Donington for me tomorrow Last of the season

 

I daresay I may have found the most comfortable kevlar jeans yet. I bought some Draggin Twista jeans yesterday and they are a world away from my three year old pair. They've added a sweat wicking layer inside as well as making the kevlar itself smoother, not only that but they fit brilliantly. If you're even remotely big, the Twistas will act like tights, but the Next-Gen ones have the same materials.

Only sticking point...the £200 asking price. They do look exactly like normal jeans though, and they're just as comfortable.

Also bought some TCX X-Rap WP boots/shoes for a bit more practicality walking around off the bike. Now I can look like I'm not riding whilst I'm riding!

 

Instead motorbike jeans I just bought a set of kevlar long-johns, and wear them underneath normal jeans, think they were around £40 at the time. I've even crash tested them, and they prevented any abrasions.

Same reason people wear kevlar jeans? abrasion resistant.

And why not? - if this comes in at or very close to the £20,000 price tag the press are talking about, it'll be a serious contender for my garage space next year.

Super charged and turbo charger bikes are as old as the hills in the custom world, was only a matter of time until the manufacturers wanted in to the party.

They're just trying to rekindle the days of the 30's with supercharged 2 strokes and the 70's Kwak Z1R-TC.

There is nothing new under the sun.....

 

Supercharge it first then put 20-layers of safety electronics between you and the bike...

I'm getting old, I'm thinking of downsizing.
Less power, maybe a kickstarter and a nice polished tank

 

The only thing missing in that video is I would have loved to hear the engine sound when revved at the end. Otherwise that is a thing of beauty

 

The racer version looks brilliant too; proper retro muscle bike.

Anyone else think the GSX1000F looks really rubbish? The naked looks okay.

I was more thinking there must be some fundemental drawback to it since it doesn't seem to have really been tried before in commercial bikes.

In other news, does anyone want to buy a 500cc Supercharger off of me? I'm only half joking.

 

The drawback has always been space, in so much as you need quite a lot of it to fit a decent turbo or supercharger - especially when you factor in the pipework and the intercooler.

I wouldn't have thought a roots-type supercharger would take up that much space (you could pretty much just bolt it onto the intake manifold). Interestingly they seem to be using a centrifugal supercharger.
