So far I've had a quick look on scan and decided on this. I'm not great a picking out parts, so I've decided to post on here before making any purchases. Could any one advise me on alternative options, if better that is. CPU................. AMD Phenom II X4 945, Deneb core, socket AM3, ........................ 3.0GHz, 8mb Total cache, HT 2000Hz, 95w Memory............4GB (2x2GB) Corsair DDR3 1333 Hard drive........500GB Samsung Spinpoint F3 GPU..................XFX HD 5770 PSU..................400w corsair CPU cooler........Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro v2.1 Mobo................Gigabyte AMD 770 AM2+ At the moment this totals upto £436 (I think) including £16 for a optical drive, but excluding a case (which I wouldn't mind a recommendation on). Budget <£450 The price isn't too bad, but I would like to be able to make some adjustments to lower the price (including the case) with affecting the performance as little as possible. Main Uses Gaming, Web browsing, watching videos, listening to music and coursework. Monitor resolution 1600 - 1050 Will be buying all parts. Thanks in advance

Be quick with the Corsair 400W, word is they are soon EOL (end of life) hence they are so cheap at present, the replacement is going to be 430w but at least £15 more (so i hear).
Build Update! Wasn't sure whether to do this or edit my first post. (Wouldn like it to be under £500) Any advice on other alternatives?
A 1TB F3 will only be about £10 more which would be worth it (just bought 2 myself) Maybe some faster RAM too http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-...600)-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-9-9-9-24-XMP-165V
Alternatively you could go for the cheaper AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition which is £40 less but use that money on a better board that has the core unlocking feature (almost all ASUS boards it think) such as this? http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus...3-1066-1333-1866(OC)-SATA-3Gb-s-RAID-MATX-VGA You get a few more features too such as USB 3 Of course there is no guarantee that the cores will unlock but I imagine at least one will. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then look here http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2010/05/04/how-amd-core-unlocking-works/1
