I almost went with this build but read the heat was enough to cook three spitroasts over the course of twelve hours.
I can't view the forum thread 'cos I'm not a member, but the URL suggests it was a Zotac 3060 (not 3070) for £359.99.
Excuses, excuses... https://www.techpowerup.com/280147/asus-lower-yields-upstream-responsible-for-lack-of-nvidia-chips
Techpowerup are being slow, I saw this reported on Monday! I think they're either doing a die revision, pulling fab time for the new Ti's or the big OEM's like Dell have been making complaints...
Or it is related to the water shortage in Taiwan that is still going on (and might be limiting the GDDR6x output from Micron)... https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/tsmc-micron-taiwan-red-alert-water-crisis/
And you need to have over 1K posts on the forum.... So all the people who have ordered from them many times.. but aren't a forum dweller kind of get shafted.
it was £359 i am not sure but i think they also checked if the buyers also previously purchased a 30 series card. also team reds 6700 cards https://www.overclockers.co.uk/foru...0-xt-loyal-members-only-deal-449-99.18924289/ £449
Viking have finally gotten around to cancelling my 3060 Ti order, although the transaction is still showing as pending - only been a week.
Apologies for the humblebrag. Managed to snag a 3080 from Currys last week! Was well chuffed but remembered my friend's GPU died a few days before that. Passed on at cost and I guess I'll run on the 970 for now. I am wondering if a lot of the desire is just FOMO. Currys seem to be the best chance of getting one so far.
Yeah, a pretty standard naff-off email: Funnily enough, zero response to the admittedly sniffy email I sent in reply.
Weird, Stock Informer Dischord doesn't have any notification for the 3080 since the 10th! How did you manage to grab it? I still never recieved an email about it! Infact, when I spoke to support they had no record of the order -_-
No cancellation here - still pending on paypal and their site. Each day I get a little less hopeful though!
On the 24th via a different discord. I just happened to have opened it for some sh**posting as I took a break to get some more water and the notification came up. Straight into the Currys store app. It seems like when I look now (out of curiosity more than anything) that it's single card alerts.. in other words no drops. Edit - in other news it looks like there's 0 point me getting a new card till I get a new core system (mobo, cpu, ram). Apparently the 580 is beating out the 3070 on older CPUs.
By the time 30x0 cards become readily available, we'll probably be looking for mobos offering PCIe5 & DDR5
