Me and my g/f are planning on getting a clio 172 sport / civic type-r / 206 gti 180... in the next couple of months. I've been looking around the main large insurers but was wondering if anyone's had sucess with some of the performance insurers and if so whic ones?

Confused.com is a pretty good start as it gives you a wide range of quotes.

I've also heard Liverpool Victoria are good with performance and modified cars, though my renewal isn't till March so I haven't checked them out personally.

If you're actually using it for competition then http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/ from Egger-Lawson are great - my dad's been using them for years and will cover anything from full race cars to road cars that are used for the odd autotest (seeing as most insurance companies will kick you in the neck if you try anything competitive).

Else, look for specialist insurers like the ones shown.
