Gotta add my 2 bits. Freakin' A! The Marathon logos are the brilliant finishing touch to quite a nice PC. I'd be scared to try some of the electro-work you're doing as just another wee bit of a mod. Well done! Oh, btw, what've you got written under the right-hand symbol? Your headphones were in the way...

I have to say that this post is so awsome...

I am already thinking that my next project maybe an apple II replica after seeing this case, that is if I do not do the MacBox... we will see.

Good Work. I wish I could have ZAP's help sometimes.. :baby:

You could try doing the keys on the keyboard as well, might take alot of time and work, but it will fit in with the design.

    (Or maybe colour them)

Part 8: Look at all the pretty colors......

I wanted to be able to show Deja at TXGF, so I needed something to go in the panel where I cut the hole for the LCD. So after some planning, this is what came out:
It is a Texas flag lit up with LEDs. To isolate each color, we made a complete cut through the plexi and put a piece of black tape in the cut.

After TXGF, I added lighting to the AMD logo.

This is what it looks like all lit up.

The next step was to get the audio amp working again (don't know what happended to it to begin with.) The left channel worked, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the right channel to come on. After messing with it about an hour, I decided to just make my own. After searching the net a bit, I went with a simple LM386 design to minimize cost.
Testing out the circuit. Not the best, but price/performance, it will still get me what I want. Besides, I will most likely be using headphones most of the time.

    [IMG] [IMG]
Building it was fun. Only took me eight hours! I will try to post a schematic later (cant seem to find it right now). Basicly it is two lm386 chips with 2 digital pots for volume control. There is also a relay and a flipflop for push-button power on/off.

I was having major problems with the on/off switch. Found I needed to debounce the signal first. Since had to do this on a seperate board, I decided to add the lighting on/off relay and relays for speaker switching.

Not very organized here, but it worked! When the power to the audio amp comes on, two relays flip the audio from the rear connector to the front speakers with a satisfying click.

    [IMG] [IMG]
This one only took me 6 hours to build.

Circuit in place. Nice snug fit. :D

UNSC - Military forces in Halo. I thought this was thier logo, but looks like it might just be an easter-egg. You can find the logo on the ship and on Capt. Keys's uniform.

I am still considering this, but right now I am kinda burnt out on the project. Think I may take a break and come back to that later. I am looking for a clear kb (preferably with the same layout as mine); however, I havent had much luck in locating one. The only ones I can find have clear cases and solid keys, or they are the roll-up kind, which I dont care for. Zap just reviewed a KB from Zippy that might work, but I would have to change the bule.
