You should if yuo find you have time, polish that steel-plate, that holds the card in place.. Would glance nicely!
Tried it guys. It's an aluminium plate and I sanded it with the highest grit sandpaper available to me, then placed metal polish.. The best shine I got was what you see on the inside of a Lian Li case.
Well the inside of a Lian Li aint bad=) ...Maybe post a nice close up shot of the backplate, so we can se just how shiny it really is =)
When I saw the first post I already thouht I had to keep an eye on this project. Now I know I was right, this is great! Sanding and polishing aluminium till it shines takes lots of time,( I know by experience ) but is possible.
this is really starting to look AWESOME! it looks so well made, and it just all fits together nicely!
It may just be me, but does your back panel bend inwards at the ends, and sticks out about where that clamp is? Cause from the pics it does, but it may just be one of those illusions... Keep up the good work, Lovin the orange! -Brad
he said it got curved while bending the edges in, and imo it gives it a bit of character that doesnt do any harm
I really managed to miss this, but excellent work. It's all coming together very nicely, and looks a lot nicer than the prefab acrylic cases (including the C3 ones, which are really high quality from what I've seen). Keep up the excellent work!
Props on your level of craftsmanship! Great looking mod, and looking forward to seeing more, nice choice in colours as well.
i think the curved back acrylic makes it look even better =) dont you love it when you make a mistake sorta and it turns out great anyways =)
Bit of a random idea but if you were bothered enough about the backplate I've got a chrome one you could swap it for? I need one that I can paint so yours would do perfectly. dw if not, and keep the great work up (it's looking more and more like my planned mod by the second ) <A88>
