After not having my internet for two months, I've had some time to start another project. My other project is on hold for the moment because I can't make up my mind on the design of it. After I came up with the idea to do a Orange County Choppers themed case, I decided to have my brother help. After going over the design for a couple weeks, we decided on what we wanted to do. We started out with a case that we found, the case is missing the motherboard tray, so we'll have to do something about that too. We started out by reshaping the front of the case with bondo. After we got the front to the basic shape that we wanted, we cut it up. On Project Isisfreak, I had a cut out of the Eye of Horus, backlit with a blue CCFL. On this case we decided to do the same kind of thing, but use the O.C.C. logo and backlight it with a white CCFL. On the bottom of the front of the case, we made a cut out for ventalation. This cut out will be filled with modders mesh. After the rough (..very rough ) cutout is filed down, we will use body filler to fill in any imperfections left on the front of the case. We will then primer the front after that so we can see if we need to use more bondo. But for now, this is our progress. For this to be a "true" OCC mod. Just purchase stock parts then argue with your brother. Follow that my paying some one to put those parts together then argue some more..If any actual fabrication needs to be done, sent it out to be done and bitch about it taking too long to be finished. Then argue some more. If you get a chance watch "Southern Steel" the boys @ Milwaukee Iron really do BUILD custom bikes...Not just order parts.. By the way..The cut does look good..Keep it up. I also draw inspiration from these "biker-build" TV shows.. Some how (in my mind anyway) us/them are doing the same thing..
I've gotta pretty much agree with modsquad there...although I don't watch southern steel, it does seem sometimes that OCC just design the bike and put it together...but I've still gotta commend em for doing a great job, even if I'm not a choppers fan, it's still great fun to watch. And btw, you gotta argue with your dad, not brother . Speaking more on-topic, the logo's looking great, I hope you can pull off a decent paint-job here, and don't forget...it MUST have chrome <A88>

I've finally received everything that I need to finish this mod. For the past couple days I've been working on the wiring for the inside of the case. All of the lights and fans are wired into one 12V molex, so only one molex is required to power all of the lights and fans. The fans are constantly on at 12V and there is a switch on the back to control all of the lights. All of the switches and LEDs on the front of the case are connected to a male D-Sub connector and there is a female D-Sub connector on the case. This way instead of having to disconnect everything to take the front off, you just disconnect one plug I tried to make it as neat as possible, but thats a lot of wires (most of which cannot be seen). Pinout for the D-Sub Connector: Pin 1: + Power Switch Pin 2: - Power Switch Pin 3: + Power LED Pin 4: - Power LED Pin 5: + Reset Switch Pin 6: - Reset Switch Pin 7: + Hard Drive LED Pin 8: - Hard Drive LED Pin 9: +12V Pin 10: Ground Pin 11: N/A Pin 12: N/A Pin 13: N/A Pin 14: N/A Pin 15: N/A Female D-Sub Connector: Two 6" white cathodes to light the logo: One connector to rule them all.. Although I like that show, I like that summation of OCC shows Modsquad. It's true, but its so funny when people fight. You forgot to mention about leaving your brother out of everything and telling him to take out the trash. Btw, Nice mod...keep it up.

Not exactly sure what we'll be getting, but we should have a better idea once we get it painted. They will be chrome though I really wish I had some more progress to show you, but its been kind of hard to get things done in this weather. The plan was to get some painting done Wednesday and Thursday while it was somewhat nice out, but I've been sick the past few days. Just my luck I did get sidepanel cut, the window cut, the window tinted (partially atleast ), and sanded both panels. Hopefully I can get some time to go to a friends house to use their garage to get some painting done. I still have some bondo work to do on the front, so I'll be working on that as soon as I can. Once again, I wish I had more for all of you. I hate this weather! I finished the wiring today, I just need to solder the power and reset switches, which can't be done untill I paint the front. The total for lights is 1x 12" White CCFL, 5x 6" White CCFLs, and 10x 3mm White LEDs. All of the lights except the power and hard drive LEDs can be turned off with the single toggle switch on the back of the case. The switches (I thought about polishing these, but I also thought about how much it would suck to kill two $7 switches ): How the switches and LEDs will be placed: The other end of the D-Sub connector: Remember the 12V on the D-Sub? Hmm, an O.C.C themed bike...I was waiting for someone to do something like this I've been thinking of doing a computer mod for the black widow bike (specific bike mod, not OCC in general) because that's just once sick bike... I think I saw it at walmart, they have pretty good looking models of the bikes..maybe you could grab one and stick it ontop of the case...maybe another inside the case so you could see it through the window..would look really sick. When I was planing the case, I looked at the models. I'm not sure if I'm going to be adding one or not. I would be worried about it being too much (looks wise) and I'm not sure if I would beable to attach it clean and sturdy enough for my tastes. I'm still thinking though I got the switches from Mouser Electronics, Part Number 693-1241.2800.
Well, time for a small update. I don't have much since I'm still getting over the flu, but I'll try to get some more done tomorrow. Para Monkey (of GideonTech Forums) sent me a motherboard tray and a couple bay covers I was missing, so that makes life much easier. Thanks Para Monkey! I'll try to get some work with that done tomorrow. While testing I noticed that the fans are a bit noisy, so I added a 33 Ohm resistor to both of them. I also realized that the fans should beable to be disconnected or changed for different fans, so I added a 3-pin connector to each of them. Hey, if you want your PC to really be snazzy (and EXTRA OCC-themed), get it powdercoated by Sumax, their powdercoating specialists. This is what I'm going to do when I finish my case. Nice work so far!

Im a big Fan of Orange County Choppers and im glad your doing this Project im not sure if they will see this project but i didnt submit it to there site. Good job so far and keep up with the updates as i want to see more.
