Hello to you all, this is my first post here and I'd like to say hello.

I've almost finished my new case and thought I'd post the pictures here to see what you think.

So here are the pics in chronological order:

These are spruce glued hardwood planks that were really cheap.

The mod is still missing some legs and the DVR+DVD covers AND an engraved Spruce tree on the face and side panels.

Hope you like it and I'll keep you posted on the progress.

sgr55: If you look close at the pictures you can still see the wood grains, it's just that they're blue now. :D I can still sand it and varnish or something. But let's leave that for some other time. Oh and the blue on the pictures is really brighter than it really is (flash brightens it a lot).

Thanks for the reply guys. Today I'll make the DVD covers I hope.

Big box, nicely done. And the standard-issue modder's cat, of course. :)

I'd have left most of it clear wood myself, but the blue is a nice colour.

DAMN how I hate it when things go wrong! I'm so not happy with the outcome of these DVD covers. It looks better in real than it does on the photos, but still I think it is ugly as hell. :wallbash:

    Well, here you go:

    Without paint...

I think it is dead ugly. :miffed:

    Opened drives...

Tomorrow I'll do the legs, hope it turns out better...

And here's a short mov clip of the drives in action:

Very nice looking case, although I did prefer the natural wood as well, but the color goes well with the CCFLs. Good work!

/me learned the hard way 2.... my case mod in progress, well its all sprayed grey/silver and i honestly think i prefered it as pine but its just 2 much effort to sort it out ;)

So i'm stickin with it. It goes alright with the blue cathode
