I'm interested to see what this will offer. The UT4 alpha is already pretty polished and offers the similar arena gameplay. Much like UT2003 competed directly with Quake 3. Epic have nailed the same feel in a new engine with UT4 of the older versions and I think Quake Champions would need to do the same to draw in and retain the play base from the older versions, half of which are still playing those versions.
I'm not going to dive into beta, same as i'm not with UT, but I will continue to wait with much excitement till it's properly live. Fun fact: I was ranked in the top 10 (global) for kills per hour in UT3 for a while. My ELO only peaked at 2900ish, but I didn't waste time haha.
yeah not touching this with a parge pole, Not sure how many have seen or read the fact sheet bethesda are pushing out: thanks bethesda, not content with ruining fallout, TES or starting the DLC race in 06 you now want to wipe your arse with quake. we mock EA/ubisoft and activision for being shitbags but lets be realistic, they are nothing compared to bethesda. ***** the lot of them.
I don't mind the DLC/Champions/paid-for stuff, purely because there will be a lot of people running "pure" servers anyways.
I've got a beta code. Was slightly miffed when I had to install Besthesda launcher, was more than slightly miffed when I read that which gunsmith has already posted, was down-right disgusted when I realised they were basically trying to make Quake in to Overwatch. Uninstalled Bethesda launcher, gave my screen the middle finger.
