Love quake, hope it's closer to the original quake than quake 3.

should be cool im up for this

they should release all games on Ad supported premise even if only to generate income for newer games

id love to play some old games but dont want to pay for them

Its a good idea - even if most money is gobbed up by the company, some can go to funding multiplayer servers so that they are kept going long after the game has died financially (starcraft)

Quake 3 is the daddy of them all. Good luck playing it with a joypad though - it's the twitchiest FPS on the planet when played right. I'm there!!

Ah yes. I can see those Nike, Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Hyundai, Subaru, Intel, AMD, nVidia, et all -- adds just completing my immersion into the world. However that's all I can say against it, cause they got the price is right, and Quake is a well established series. As long as new, never-before-seen games aren't distributed this way, this is kind of cool. It could also allow for more in depth demos because the adds would bring in some revenue, and then the promise of no adds in the full unlocked version.

In the right situations this could be amazing.

starcraft is most certainly not a dead horse. ask any korean. but its a good point, games developers should get something for continuing support if retail sales are neglidgible. i dont mind a few well placed inobtrusive adverts.
