Nice post - really highlights just how good this game we've been waiting ages for is looking Damn you
Saw this on Digg earlier. With the given resolution, if you gave me random pics, some of the comparisons I couldn't tell which is which (real life vs crysis) ¬_¬
At first glance I can barely tell the difference between the two shots but upon closer inspection i can tell the difference.
Good, but the real photos have much more in the way of vibrance to the colours; the Crysis screenshots seem to have more muted colours. But nice, anyway...
The games on the left, right? To be perfectly honest without a good hard look i really couldn't tell "Hand me my 8800GTX!" "What do you mean I don't have one yet!"
It's the other way around...photo on the left, game on the right. Looks beautiful, can't wait, although I'm not sure how well my machine will handle it?
Stunning. There are minor differences, but it just goes to show how far computer-generated graphics have come over the past decade or two. There's no doubt that real-life imitation is just around the corner. The only thing with crysis that will spoil the 'experience' is the juddering as most of our PCs struggle to give a decent frame-rate whilst playing.
i'm getting on my turntables to tell you how sick these graphics look. So Sick.mp3 lol, that was the first and only scratch i did on that track so live with it. those graphics are amazing.
I don't know where your looking but that water is a damn nice step up from anything i have ever seen in a game before...
Was planning to get another 7800GTX to play this game but upon inspection I think I'm going to need a major overhaul and go to a core 2 duo/dual 8800gtx combo... bah I'll see how this rig handles the game with the current specs though.
See the difference? The game one is still a copied over texture with the same ending points of the waves, also the color makes it look a lot more flat and less random like waves are. In the game one, the water basically follows a line, the whole thing is just coming all up at the same time and pulling all back at the same time. In the real world one, there's parts where there's more water then others, there's cross waves as they pull back, and there's a wave which is cresting only at the tips. Also note the foam, there's more foam near the bottom then the top and they bounce off and around the rocks. In the game.. it's still a texture. Which works fine for lakes and places where the water is flat.
