News Researchers unveil graphene-based cooling film

Have any actual products made of this so called 'wonder material' gone on sale to the public yet?

Seem to hear so much about it, hardly a week goes by without some new breakthrough with it, but I'll be damned if I can think of anything on sale to actually buy.

 

Copper has been researched and developed for 10000 years now, so products made with it are quite advanced and its properties are well known.
Graphene has been basically researched for about 150 years, and in applied research for just over 10 years. For material science, graphene is an new-born infant. What you are looking at is science examining and testing how a material can be made and used, sometimes succeeding and sometime failing.

You can't buy it because it isn't a commercial product yet.

Given the impressive properties graphene has displayed, you can bet many, MANY billions of research dollars are being spent in university, government and corporate labs to develop patentable applications and eventually commercial products. There are truck-loads of money to be made expoiting graphene, so I am certain everyone is pressing hard to get it out there as soon as possible.

 

This isn't a 'replacement for Copper', this is for use as a gap-spanning material. Specifically, this would replace the solder or TIM between the die and the heatspreader, but not the heatspreader itself or the TIM between it and the heatsink.

 

There are some Graphene light bulbs for sale later this year.

 

This sounds like pyrolytic graphite, which has been available to the public in sheet form for quite a while already (albeit a little thicker than 20µm).
