I really need to get a better camera, Actually the TIE fighter is TAN! and the weathering that I plan on using is brownish like 'Perforated'. So since I was going to have all those earth tones I figured a stained base would match. - I am still hoping that! My desk is a dark stained wood so I want it to match. (actually its an old dinning room table :hehe: ) If I have to I'll go with something else, then I think that a clear plexi base might work.

    Well anyway, we'll soon see.....

Here are a few more production shots

These two pic's show the outline on the window and some two-tone detailing on top of the ship. You can also sort of see the antenna that I made. Plus a little oops on the top hatch...

I am now working on the two front openings and in designing some artwork for the top and sides of the ship. I am going with a heldric design with some lettering. I will paint the design and lettering just as I did on my 'Perforated' mod. I guarantee that a TIE fighter has never been painted this way. Hope the Star Wars Geek Squad doesn’t mind to much. :D

Along similar lines, why not make one of these as your actual PC for this thing to plug into.

*EDIT* Check out the comics section for a laff.

Wow thats realy nice. I been following this since you introduced it. Btw have you thought about puting a cuple of led's on the bottom or the rear of it next to the ports to make it look like an afterburner?

Very nice mod Budda. Your attention to detail is astonishing to say the least. Will you have it done in time for the Episode III premier????

    funny guys....

work got a little crazy as it does sometimes. I will be back on track in a day or so. I am actually using the tie fighter right now! Currnetly I am working on the stencils for the paint job (like I used in my Perforated mod). So I really plan on finishing it this weekend.

    p.s. - I like the new look bit-tech!

This is great. I love it. Anything to make those old starwars toys functional again.
