The price on this is shocking.

You can get a full blown 570 for that price, why on earth would I pay the same amount for a less capable card, no matter how good it is?

It's priced for performance; this Zotac card is about as fast as a stock GTX 570, for less monies (GTX 570's might dip down to a similar level, but only stock ones, and only briefly).

With the discount code at Dabs you can get a KFA2 570 for £10 less than this.

    How does that make sense?

There's a distinct lack of GTX 470 results, even though you list it as one of the GPUs included as a comparison. I only say this because I just got one from the forums, but I'd still like to know how it compares with the newer tech. Not a big ask I think, given you've included 5770 results lol

You've answered your own question there; with discount codes etc. Performance and pricing will always go hand in hand and this card = 570 performance. partner to partner pricing will always differ as someone is always ready to undercut someone else. As I said in the review, factory and user applied overclocks muddy the water, but on average You'll find the 570 is generally at least £10-20 more.

As I said in the performance analysis, we're kind of between graphics benchmark updates at the moment. It's frustrating, but we sadly we can't re-test 30 cards just for one review, so while the 470 features in some, its not in all the results. We'll be putting together a new suite of benchmarks in time for the shiny genuine-new-GPU-ness next year, including BF3 and Skyrim.

odd choice of games to run other than bf3...

the hexus review was able to achieve an oc to 950 on the core and 4400 on the memory...that's impressive...still this thing needs to fall about 5-10% to be a good buy

Can I ask why you tested low end cards such as the 5770 and the GTS 450 but not higher end ones like the 470 first? Not that I'm having a dig, just curious :D

And apologies, I skipped the analysis bit to write my initial comment lol

Actually, I said the 570 is cheaper with codes, it's the same price otherwise.

So, out of interest, would you spend the same amount on a card with 448 cores as you would on one with more cores, considering the fact that you may decide to overclock?

Anyway, the point is moot for me know. Nvidias tactics worked, they forced me into buying a 570. A Phantom for £260 will do me.

Don't get me wrong BTW, it was a good review, it's just the price I have a gripe with.

"while the GTX 560 448 Core looks a sound investment right now; it might not stay that way for long. "

Lolz...Bit Tech being polite to it's readers...actual translation, 'you'd be incredibly dumb to pay this much now for a pimped up 560'.

That price can smeg right off. Maybe I was being optimistic with thoughts of a £200 price but this? pffft.
    560ti it is.
£167 vs £234 going by ebuyers pricing. Can't justify that hike.

I am surprised to see it outperform the 570, kudos to nvidia's engineers.

Oddly enough other reviews have had it performing 5-10% slower than a 570 as was expected initially. Weird.

What's also weird is that Zotac said it would retail for $289 which is about £185....

That sure is a pretty card. I wonder how a pair or a trio would work together?
I don't know about them "sneaking" this card out when damned near every review site in existance is posting reviews of it. Google "Zotac GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Core Limited Edition" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Kind of like trying to "sneak" the murderous dictator Kim Jung Il through the front door of the White House.

So. anyone thinking of buying a 2nd 560ti for SLI with an existing card should avoid this one, yes?
