    isn't the rock going to be playing the Doom guy? sounds like another pants port to me. not a very good idea from the outset imo

    Why have people been going and making movies based on games when they are all mediocre at best. I say we start boycotting these movies in theatres so they'll stop making them. We should also start boycotting all these sequels coming out to bad movies. Theres a LOT more I want to say but I don't want to turn this into a rant.

    It just seems like it's going to be tooooo loosely based on the games to be good... well, it might be "ok", but it sounds too loosely based story-line wise to be appropriately called a "Doom" movie....

    Going to avoid it like the plauge. I thought the Resident Evil movies were bad enough, but at least they go on the general-ish idea of the games.

    Anyone read the DOOM books? Amazon for them. Bloody amazing series that would make really good films.

    Totally agree. Most movies based on games suck and this doesn't sound any better.

    If its anything like the game you wont get to see to much of the film, as it'll be fimled in near darknes...
    Probaly not going to see this one tbh...

    << sounds to me like they are getting resident evil and doom mixed up? whats the point of even calling it doom if its not going to be based on Doom at all apart from a few guns/look-a-like monsters?

    IMO, sounds like it will be okay. It would be even better if they stuck with the main plot, Hell monsters and Mars, but I'm not going to critisize(sp?) until I see the movie. But I'm not a Doom player, so doesn't hit as close to home to me as you guys, just hope they don't screw up the Halo movie.

    I can usually watch anything. Just disengage brain and enjoy. it usually helps when it comes to these if they sort of use some of the details from the source materials

    RE1 - alright
    RE2 - bit better than the 1st.
    MK - good, done exactly what I expected a series of fights with characters which looked roughly like their digital counterparts. hey, I liked it .
    MK2 - rubbish, but watchable
    Mario - erm...
    House of the dead - haven't seen yet - but at least there is zombies in it
    Alone in the dark - haven't seen yet - but the flashlight hurts the monster(s)?

    Doom - no demons, no hell, not set on Mars... how exactly is this doom? surely with a film like this it needs to be catered to the fans of the game (core audience) - I'll reserve judgement till I see it.

    Doom update with pics This film looks absolutely crap tbh, as a gamer and a fan of the series i think that i and many others will be bitterly dissapointed by this RE carbon Copy.
