I want to paint a design on a case, I want it to be black with flames. Anyway, I want the Lian-Li PC60 plus, it is made in both silver and black. My question is if I am better off buying the black version, prime it then paint on the flames, or get the silver version, sand it all down, prime it and paint it. Opinions?

(I am a complete newbie when it comes to painting/modding etc.)

I would go with the black version, looks rather dapper imo :)

If you intend to paint the whole case black then put in the flames, i suggest going with the silver version (I think it's also cheaper), because IMO it wouldn't look good if you'd put paint onto anodized aluminium, you'd still need to sand it away and paint it black.

I say get the silver version, paint it black, and then put the flames in.

Buy the silver, and paint it black, it should be light enough in color that you don't even really have to worry about priming... then put the flames on, IMO having paint on paint would look better for this application... paint on metal might look a little ununiform, and almost half-ass.
