Very nice work, this has to be one of the best Lian-Li V mods i've seen I love your acrylic work, one thing i'll point out is in your second picture the new PSU's cover seems a little bent towards the top left.

 

I see what you mean Leeum, but that's only on the photo. I see it in a lot of photos I take, that something looks bent that in real life isn't. I've got a digital camera, but it's an oldy.

 

I have just read the whole thread it has impressed me so much I have registered just to post you a message.

That is absolutely AWESOME.

Your really welcome, you are an insperation, I've been out this afternoon buying goodies to do some mild modding as my skills are nowhere near like yours although I'm certainly going to have a go at things I haven't done before.

Keep it up.

 

Not many updates in the next two weeks, cause I'm now concentrating on all the wiring. What wires will come in what place and do I have to drill a hole for it, that kind of stuff. Just like the hole I made today for the pumpwire and the wires from the LED underneath the pumphousing.

 

A very small photo update. I have cut the hole for the draining system at the back of the case. This is the spot that has to be removed.

The idea is to place this acrylic part in the back



When this is in place I can mount these fittings.



Draining the system will be very easy, I just put in a normal fitting with a few centimeter hose and turn open the valve.

No, I don't have that game. I don't have the gamer age anymore I recently bought Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 because I wanted to know what has become of those classics. I guess those games will run fine on this pc.

Today I will make the last hole in the case for the Danger Den fill cap. The waterloop with the CPU in it can be filled through the reservoir, but the second loop with the PSU's needs this fill cap, because the reservoir is in the front on its side.

The decision to place it over there wasn't difficult. All the hoses were planned and to make the loops look nice this was the best place. The hose will go straight down.

I'm not far from the moment I can install everything and fire up this baby
All I do now is sanding, sanding, sanding...........

I am a big fan of this case franklin. I know I already said that, but you keep me coming back for more.

For cutting the plexi what is your process? ie. what do you use for the cut and what is your filing/sanding/polishing process for the edges? Just asking since this is my weakness.

 

I start with the tape. Put it on both sides to prevent any scratches. I use a pencil to mark the material. This is the saw I prefer to use.



Just stay a bit of the pencil line. File the plexie till you touch the pencil line.
To make sure the sides are completely straight I do the following. You need a flat surface, I use an old mirror. Lay down some sandingpaper on the mirror ( you can use a piece of tape to keep it in place ) Now move the plexie over the sandingpaper, back and forward. I use sandingpaper with grid 800.

For any small scratches on the plexie I use some very ine polish, that ios used for cars. A bit of toothpaste sometimes also works quite well.

 

I made a cover that still let's the air through for the memory modules.

 

can i hire you to build stuff for me you god of modding? haha jk...sorta
