Case temps

My cases temps seems to be a bit too high. I have those fans connected to 5v line. Maby I have to connect to 12v with some kind of trimmers....

Will have to search thru bit-tech for ideas.

 

Maybe build one of CPEmma's DioBuses for fan control?

I'm thinking of one for my case, wired into a four-port fanbus to control all the case fans at once. Run them at full 12V under load, and turn it down when I'm just doing desktop stuff.

Thanx for that http://www.cpemma.co.uk/ link !! there's so many great ideas for my fan adjusting needs, and diagrams to use 7v connection too.. I will use 7v-way as temp solution. I will use trimmers some day...

use the 5volt+ as minus and 12volt+ as plus 12-5=7

 

Or maybe run fans in series. 2 12v fans will be 6v each/

 

what about bay bus?

Yes I'm going to build bay bus in future.

My fans are quite quiet, at least I think so, compared to my old comp.... manufacturer promised 19-21dB. Allthough those are not quietest possible fans

Now I'm going to use 7v!

Now, my second summer holiday is going to start this friday! So i'm back with my project I bought new LG DVD DL -drive and are going to install thet next.

I allso have to get parts for fan controllers!

(I have been working on my HTPC -project, but I dont have any pics of that)

Today I got back to this project

Here's what I have done today:
- Cut remaining holes to Motherboard stealth
- Soldered Eject-switch and LED -wires to DVD-drive

I was thinking that maby I should paint the VGA cooler with spraypaint. It's getting quite hot, so what kind of paint would I need for that?

 

i would put another cooler on it, as you say its kinda hot in your case. My advice is the vf700 cu from zalman, i have it myself too, and it cools like hell. Maybe for the overall case temp: more fans on lower voltage, also cuts down in the noise.

the white is great, far more stylish than the transparant plexi (which alot of premods have).

Much compliments for the mobo stealth .
I really like the idea of hiding all the unfancy looking components of a motherboard. It looks really clean!
Especially the ugly 'rotten orange' colored Asus boards are worth stealthing.

 

Thanks I have 3 casefans at the moment (and I really don't want to add more fans) using 5v and I am going to try 7v for those. I'll see if that lowers the temps enough. I've been experimenting with 7v and fan noise stays tolerable in my opinion.

 

Thanks and you are so right about the ugly components! BUT I had so many problems fitting that stealth on place... I just screamed and pulled my hair... nightmare! Don't reccomend to anyone with weak nerves
