So, I have "TV-computer" at the moment laying bare on my bookshelf :)

And I plan to make it look something like this:

Going to build it from 4mm plexisheet (like my KIRKAS -project) with same kind of "white from inside" -look.

    Hardware at the moment:
    - Athlon XP 2500
    - 3GB HD (yes indeed)
    - 1GB networkconnection to "maincomputer"
    - 512MB 400Mhz DDR
    - Radeon 7000
    - Terratec DVB-c Digi-tv-card
    - Asus mobo with 5.1 sounds

    Software:
AND this is the problem! I have only XP and Terratec's own TV-software, BECAUSE Terratec wont work with any HTPC -software at the moment (this DVB card has only Beta drivers at the moment).

:) I made that picture with 3D Studio MAX.

That blue ring around power button (and CD-tray too) is going to be made of frosted plexi, behind that are some blue leds.

Button (and CD-tray) is going to be made from same plexi as the whole case. Behind plexi-button there's going to be standard switch (with 1mm movement range).

Sweet. I'm looking forward to this appearing in the Project Logs. You've got a good eye for design - I hope it turns out as well in the flesh.

I think that the balls are just to show the reflection of how the top will look. Cant wait to see this for real!

You could very well look into linux alternatives such as freevo or MythTV/minimyth. They have solid hardware support for everything you've mentioned (Assuming AC97 on the ASUS mobo) and except for a rather complex install, work wonderfully and quite simply once they've been installed.
    But looks great!

I have actually thought of that.... linux I mean! Maby I should go that way! Allthough I have minimum knowledge of linux :( Only installed Suse once, and got seriously frustrated after spending three days trying to get my network to work ;)
