hey all, Maybe you can help, ive just got a second hand Shuttle NForce 2 Ultra 400 Mainboard (AN35N)... Ive plugged everything in ... 512megs of DDR PC3200 mem (geil value) barton 2800+ and a radeon 9800 pro.. all of which i know are working.. when i powerup everything powers up, but no monitor, no beeps nothing.. do you think the motherboard is dead? or am i missing something???? please help im getting very annoyed
thanks, but ive got 3 different types of ram (2 sticks of 512MB PC3200 1xgeil value, 1x KVR, and 1 512MB crucial PC2700) all tried in differnt slots nothing.. I tried a differnt graphics card but nothing. i know everything im using works as i rebuilt it all in my old motherboard and stuff is fine.. does anyone else out there have this ATX mobo manufactured by shuttle?
tried reseting the bios? dunno if that would help but always worth a shot i spose. failing that, take it all out and start again.
yep, had the cmos battery out, if thats what you mean.. im just confused as everything seems to have power but no beeps, or any sort of warning.. just nothing
check that you actualy have a buzzer/sounder hooked up correctly. My shuttle didn't have one lol so I thought the mobo had died when it was only the chepo generic ram
well there is a speaker but theres no boot at all... the manual says it wont boot without the 4pin mobo power from the powersupply (do all nf2 mobos have these?) my psu does have one and i have plugged it in.. if it was not supplying power would i still get some sort of action from the speaker ? bios? guess i should send it back eh
if that 4 pin plug wasnt connected then all youll get is the system running, i mean the HDD will kick up and the lights go on but nothing on the screen happens. i think you should send it back really as it sounds knackered. or you could just keep on trying stuff til you shove it in a box and kick it all the way to the post office
AFAIK if you don't even get a POST screen with the 45G it's either due to a BIOS chip failure or complete failure of the motherboard because someone changed the RAM voltage. Try everything you can think of though of course
well sommit aint right.. so i sent it back for my refund today.. they are going to "test" it too though .. JUST give me my money baaaack
