I can still see some stuff inside the PSU, so it's not a dummy, but a real one ;)
    Sorry I missed that though!

the word dummy was misplaced, it's an actual working PSU, but I've just put it there to figure out the cable managment. The PSU that I've ordered is a custom made 500W ultra silent one :naughty:
That's one of the objectives of this project because it will "serve as a server", it has to be super quiet. (only 4 fans in the entire system)

Next up is the sticker design 4 the laser sticker printer

I made a design in cardboard for the coverplate of the drivecages.
The shape is the same as the side panel, but with a spacing of about 2cm.

The piece will be made in plexi that is sanded down and then covered with a laserprinted sticker, so when I place the leds, everything will be black except the cutouts. hmmm, my explination is a bit shabby, but you'll c what I mean when it's finished :naughty:

I've made 2 sketches 4 the plexi part. I won't use the sticker method, just paint the plexi high gloss black.

In the sketches, the circels would be cut out and the letters blue stickers laser printed.

    What would look nicer??

let me know fast, because I want to make the piece tomorrow

done some more work on the PSU

I removed the 2 standerd fans and replaced them with enermax ultra silent ones.

I hate the look of a fan sitting on the outside of a PSU, so I decided to make a coverplate for it.

Here is the plexi cover plate :

And the homemade emblems to go on the plexi

What did you use to attach the wire mesh to the case side panels? Any pictures of the other side?

Why oh why does "Danger, Watercooled" sound so weird on an aircooled PSU?

    But, nice job ;)
I do have a question tough, does the PSU still fit? because I've noticed that the plexi cover is wider then the normal size of the PSU, or is that just an optical illusion?

The PSU is the perfect place to put a emblem on and because the entire system (except PSU) will be watercooled, I've put "danger watercooled" on it.

The plexi is just an illusion of the photo, everything still fits perfectly.

I didn't like the idea of the paper, so I decided to paint the plexi black and put the "danger watercooling" emblem after an extra piece of plexi, so it can be highlighted with the leds later.

    After cutting, sanding, drilling, tapping
