On the Cs Capacitor you have to experiment depending on the thickness of your panel. The irregulary on top of the Touch-wheel is my own mistake with the dremel. The edges of the Spec-sheet are cold-cathode tubes, they are tapped onto the previously made spec-sheet. http://photos22.flickr.com/28866241_b7aa549e92.jpg Great to meet you at QuakeCon Milworkz. Got a good photo of your PC: http://photos22.flickr.com/34101893_9087fba17b_o.jpg Redwood was sreaming along the whole LAN. (Well till I messed up windows just before QuakeCon ended) More photos from QuakeCon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zapwizard/tags/quakecon/page2/
Amazing Zap! I like that Cenobite PC...original and pretty awesome..I think I might die at night though..my computer is in my room..I don't like the idea much of looking over there and seeing a human-like figure in the shadows.. Regards,
Zap, that is a beautiful peice of work you have made there. I mean seriously it's just awesome! Hope you had fun at quake con, and i bet it was nice to see everyone from BT that you ran in to!
Just FYI: I probably won't have Redwood 100% complete for a month. I am buying a house right now, and will be moving pretty quick so that will take some time before I can go back and attack the mod again.
I didn't meet you at QCon but I was there. I kinda stood behind you for a bit looking at the case while you were doing some gaming, didn't want to interrupt. It looks great though.
That enters the top 3 woodwork projects straight away. 1 being: http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2003/09/15/vesperdeco/1.html 2 being: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=89638 3 being: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=1043117#post1043117
You're missing one: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=45154&page=1&pp=20 Unfortunately, the pics aren't working Perhaps if we all beg Piloux to fix them you can see one of the top 4 wood cases in the universe. (Also, I had never seen the second one in your list - thanks -- it's great.)
Mil...it's not fully wood..it's just wood outside metal..and even if it wasn't..too much metal visible. The others are full wood Regards,
Ohh so VESPERDECO isnt made out of 40% plexi Glass and you think Plywood is "wood"! i have over $450 in bloodwood (a real Hardwood) and it is all 3/4" thick! the case weighs over 100 LBS!
wow, sorry to say, but you paid way too much for that blood wood, but anyway, great case zap, i'm honored to be on that top 3 list with you and i was also inspired by your case to make my next case
I bought it from a local woodshop in Missouri about 4 years ago! i bought it there due to i saw what i was buying and some warpage problems happen shipping that is very common with this type of wood! I probably spent an extra $125 but i think it was worth it at the time but not so much now! I didnt mean to offend you greensabbth if i did at all! I was stating a point! sorry if i did though! i spent to much time on that thing for somone to say it isnt a real all wood case and is just a veneer!
I have spent a total of $150 on wood so far, I figure about the same cost as a nice alluminum case. Besides the veneer it was all local suppliers.
Ok Zap where the hell are you... Have the Enviromentalist come and kill you due to your wood case??? am i next??? come on man tell us what is up have you put the last layer of finsih on or have you even touched it since quakecon...
