Very nice idea, although i have a MAJOR problem with the position of the pump. magnetic hard drives and watercooling pumps dont realy mix. apart form that EMF problem, youll def need a 90' support for the gcard cooling. Love the work so far "its an SSF jim, but not as we know it"
LAGMonkey- I am aware of the problems with the pump being there, I am more worried about issues from the psu then with the pump itself, hopefully giving the pump an alu case will help get rid of any problems. quadmodz- Without watercooling, my shuttle is the coolest running non WC shuttle I know of. My cpu runs idle in the 27-30C range, and load rarely goes above 42C.
Very nice mod, however you may want to rewire your psu, (ie, shorten the atx cable, and hard drive cables, it looks like you would have the expertise for that). That would tidy up the interior a great deal.
Yeah, I meant to shorten them a while back, but ran out of solder. Now I am going to wait until I am done watercooling, so I know how long it has to be when routed along the edges and out of the way of the tubing.
to be honest you're really running out of space :/ keep it up anyway, I wan't to see how you'll cope with that.
To be honest, there is not enough space in a shuttle for an atx psu. But that didnt stop him did it. I can actually see it working, if he uses small enough waterblocks and pump, and mount the rad externally.
er wont that pump muck up your hard drive....isnt why aquacomputer made the full metal jacket? i know its not the same pump but dont all pumps make a small magnetic field?
ah a see how u got ur nickname now looking nice tho, im v suprised u managed to get that PSU so small ,good job.
your CPU temps. aren't what you reported them as.... lets not forget the temp sensor problems that plague the sn95g5...
Yes fev, I remember the temp issue, my temps used to show up as 18Cish but all was fixed with a bios update as it was just shuttle reading the temps according to AMDs orrigional specs. Shuttle has had a bad time with the sn95g5, I still need to rma this board (second RMA) as it doesnt like being turned off and turned back on, and ethernet drops but thats no big deal. I would really like to replace this with a st20g5, but thats an expencive upgrade, expecially for what little I gain.
Amazing stuff. I might do something like this (different model, I'd rather have the card reader on the SN25P) once I get the cash. mad props for thinking this up.
