Motors old banger astra - speedo problem

    looking for wise people who might know something about speedo's.

    Has an old banger astra, noticed it is saying that i am going faster than i actually going. like 40 before im even out 2nd gear on a wee street.

    Is there anything that might be causing that problem. or a way to fix it?

    Got differant profile tyres fitted? low profiles would give that kind of syptom :)

    don't think so ill check though, found out why the car was shaking on the motorway, the back left wheel has started to wobble, so thats another problem.
