Today I made final job to the front pannel - I painted symbols for description of switches. It wasn't easy...

I made them using templates like this

Thank you, I'm working hard now and I plan to finish this week with the case. Then I'll start with the keyboard and mouse.

Wow, this mod is awesome, great attention to detail with the ageing.. Everything was well-executed, especially for a first time mod. Kudos to you!

Yes, I'm measuring AC 230V current. First I was going to measure DC currents for all lines but it was too complicated and a dangerous for the PSU - I could have spoiled it.

The apmermeter is connected directly between mains and transformator. Its a serial connection of course. I think I have done a photo of the connection.... I'll look for it.

    Thanks.
That's the easiest way, of course. And reliable. Only safety... I hope the ampermeter connections are correctly isolated ;)

About the whole case: looks great! (Btw, RTCW is one of my favours.)
Thanks for explaining, how you made the rust effect.
    Looks really real!
(Right now I'm trying to made rust effect on my case. Only problem is, that I don't have those sprays and I've got to work with waterbased acrylcolors. Result looks a little different.)

Thank u theurgy! Actually I made several mistakes and attempts to get what I want. I colud post in "disaster mods log" as well ;)
As always, the effect is not like I wanted to achieve ;) But I think I'm very close to my first idea and the mod fits the Wolfenstein theme.

I found the picture - you can see the blue and the black wires that go to the ampermeter

I made changes to the fans couse the china "superred" logos didn't fit the wolfenstein theme ;)

    and golden grills :(

    I painted them black
    [IMG]

I printed RTCW logos on the regular laser printer and painted 4 times with the varnish
    [IMG]

    cut out 2 circles
    [IMG]

and fixed with glue on the fans

well, its time to test if the electronics works

    first the voltages
    3,3V
    [IMG]

    5V
    [IMG]

    12V
    [IMG]

    now, I test fan voltages
    the case fan
    [IMG]
voltage zero couse the fan is off
    [IMG]

    if the fan in on
    [IMG]

    look at the left potentiometer
    it's high
    [IMG]

    and now it goes low
    [IMG]

the PSU fan - it's controlled automatically by the PSU
    [IMG]

    and the processor fan
    [IMG]

    the right potentiometer
    low voltage
    [IMG]

    and higher voltage
    [IMG]

    and the current
    [IMG]

The total current is unfortunatelly zero because the test system is very old - it's a penthium III 600 MHz and the total power consumption is below 100W. To make the amperometer's indicator go it requires minimum about 250W - then the current is about 1A
