As reported that's incorrect. That excludes sales from major OEMs, like Dell. It only includes PIB-type sales and smaller resellers.

At least that's how it was noted on /.

    Still, go AMD.

It states they will be able to supply 30% of the market by 2006, with fab36. Is that 30% of the market allowing for growth, or not. Because the market is always growing, and if its 30% by todays standards, it will not be able to provide 30% of them market by 2006's standards.

By 2008 standards, or by todays standards. Because if the market for cpu's today is 100milion, and in 2008 its 200million (yea, they are just random numbers) will they have the ability to produce 30million, (30% of todays production) or 60million (30% of 2008s standards).

I don't honestly know, but I've heard several analysts talk about 'enough for 30% of the market' by having the capabilities to produce 100 million CPUs a year by 2008.

Firehed- 5,500? I only see 5,499. . . Are you trying to cheat someone who actually does have 5,500+ posts??? :)

I wonder if Intel posbily has a very reduced price for OEMs or some sort of big advantage if an OEM use only Intel processors. I really dispise Dell, they tought that "Dell only uses Intel processors" as if the AMDs are trash. Quite honestly, in many cases that is the exact opposite.
