Hello all So this is the result of watching all beautiful casemods : making my own project. The project is based on a Lian Li PC7 B, some photos : This case is pretty simple, but sophisticated, the project is the meaning of Black Widow in French. Let's Go : My rig will by composed by : DFI NF4 Ultra D 1gb Gskill GBLA AMD 3000+ Winchester Maxtor 80 Go Seagate 160 Go Leadtek Nvidia 6600 Gt Thermalright Xp 120 This will be full Air cooled for now, but my phase change cooling will be operational in some days. The complete rig My PSU, 14cm fan 24 pin Shiny It's bigger than my previous PSU Let's mount it It's big but silent, this psu need cable sleeving
Silent Rack Before the PSU, I will make some job on the HDD rack. I've mounted it a first time, and it's very noisy. So here is how I do it. I think this part is useless, and it allow vibrations so... I drill the rivets that hold the rack. It's clean, and now I can choose how to fix the rack. I use plastic separator. This is the SATA cable : Test fitting, look nice, and simple, I use only one cable for both HDD. Notice the holes I've drill, and look at the following. Drill, drill, and drill. Bolts and plastic separator, I hope this will absorb noise, and vibrations. Fitting, nice (sorry for dust, and poor quality picture)
Fan cable sleeving and chair mounting I will sleeve the fan cable as I'll do for every fan and cable in my case : This part is very useful, and I'll use it I've received that Perfect chair, with wheel, and height ajustable Next steps are : -Graphic card silencing -Cd Rom hidding -Window cutting -Many more things
Project : La veuve noire, 17th october Hello This is my first casemod, so be kind with me , I'm french : Sorry for scratching your language Comments appreciated. Project page : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=1086848#post1086848 Shinuza San
Uh... are you drilling and making aluminum dust while your mobo is installed? Might want to.... uh... not do that... But other than that, looks nice so far. -Lemur 6
I fact, not, I've made this shot after completing the drilling and re-installing the mobo, I were not really drilling at this moment. I know doing this could put some aluminium on the mobo, and fry it . I don't think drill and shot can be at the same time.
- serial_
Graphic Card Silencing My 6600 is noisy, very noisy. So I've bought a Zalman VF700 CU And today, I've installed it. This is temp i've got before installation The card with stock fan VF-700 Nakedness, very hot Packaging, very complete, it also include thermal paste. Heatsink installation, very easy, you just to tear off a sheet of paper, and stick it to the chip. Here it is, total operation time : 10 minutes This is great, but... ... this is better! And this is pretty much better The packaging included this, but I won't switch every time from **chilling on Bit-tech's forum** configuration to **Playing a FPS with loud sound** (as so my mother can become crazy ) configuration. So switch is the word, and I'll use a switch, easy to reach, but hidden. More to come
Lights yeah, I mean not, a complete night club, this project is dedicated to sophitication and pratical stuffs. I want it as something silent, but efficient (overclocking) and beautiful, but not extravagant. Thanks for comments, you french is very good, way much better than my english I think. I have many more than 2 years studying english... A plus tard For next I will, overclock the Graphic card, and work on a switch for gaming to working and reverse. If someone now if I can return 5v input to 12v ground without damaging my PSU... Thanks Au revoir Shinuza San
Thanks, glad to see you like it! I promise bigger MODifications in the next days. I've to do : -Graphics card 5v/12v switch and integration -Optical Drives hidding, and open buttons moving and integration -many many things... , but this is what I've in my mind right now.
Sleeving & Electronics Hi, a little update here. Some sleeving action : My tools How to unmount the 3 pins connector. All finished, this fan will come in front of my case, right behind the HDD. Now we'll attack the 5v/12v switch. I take two 4 pins to 3 pins stuffs. Cut it, and then I take part that split the molex connectors in two part. Now I mount it back in the molex ... and start connect the whole stuff. This allow a fan to run on 5v or 12v. Sleeving again, this wire will be connected to the Graphic Card for Gaming/Working switching. And now I test the placement of the wire for the graphic card, and I'm thinking of a fake floor. More to Come Comments apreciated : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=100091 Shinuza San
Looks very good so far, I like it a lot. You do good sleeving. That vga cooler really made that much of a differnce? Hrm, I might get one of those.
Graphic Card Overclocking Here's a little update, I'm working on it, but this is my current playable (12v switched ) frequencies. Stock are 500mhz/1ghz More to come tomorrow
Thank you mate. This vga cooler is pretty great, I win overclock too, about 59 mhz on the core and so for the memory, comparing to the stock fan.
Major Update Hello, I'm back after a few days, but I'm pretty busy, with looking for a job, and a flat. Sorry for blurry pictures, but I borrow this camera sucks a lot Let's start : I need to sleeve my front fan. With RCA Then Install it Here is a zoom on the fan bolt, I use a rubber ring. [Off topic] Dude, I just broke a glass [/Off topic] Now I drill a hole through the mobo plate, so I can install the female RCA connector. This female RCA is connected to the 12v line. Now installing the 5v/12v switch Now I drill a hole through the mobo plate, and make... Remember my 5v/12 switch. ...this pass through. Then I have to connect the switch to a molex connector. I drill the rear of the case, for insert the switch HDD cage Lian li give with his case a cable holder (?) which I stick on the side of this HDD cage. Here it is installed. Global view Here is a global view, I have a few cable on the floor, so the fake floor will be usefull. I still have to do : Side window stuff, DVD writer hidding, cable organisation
btw, its better to put the rubber inbetween the stuff your trying to reduce vibrations with so it goes Bolt hdd holder rubber washer case nut but otherwise this mod looks kickass, very clean
Yop, thank you for comment, I will try your set up. Tommorow I will start cutting through then case, and in many way.
