    Hi,

Just taken a few cars pics.

    Here's my everyday motor.
It's a '93 Mazda MX3 V6. Bought her as a stop gap after i sold my MR2 turbo last February. Kept it longer than expected as she's a nice drive. I have to travel down a few country lanes everyday to work and it's fun :D

yes i know she's utterly filthy. It's hard to keep cars clean where i live. The roads are very muddy this time of year.

My misses drives a Ford Probe 16v (she likes it :) ) but no pic today as it's at a garage having a new dizzy fitted.

Here's our little super cheap runaround. The backup car. And for when we need coal or for getting the milk etc hehe. It's a '94 Metro 1.4Si. Quite nippy, cheap tax and insurance only £150 for us both :thumb:

    Cheers m8y. It's a 1.8, which was/is the world's smallest V6 supposedly. And was the only V6 fitted to the MX3 officially.
The bigger 2.5 unit from the MX6, however, will fit quite easily and is a popular mod in the US.

    1989 Oldsmobile 88 Custom Cruiser
307 cid V8 with a 4bbl carb that puts out 140hp and 255ft-lbs. RWD. The engine is 2-3x the size of some of the other cars posted here. The car itself weighs 4250lbs. It's 18+ feet long and 6+ feet wide. 4 speed auto with overdrive and the oldschool stalk shifter. It's got three seats in the front, so there isn't a center console, which is kinda cool. There's another row of three seats and a rear-facing fold-down row of two seats. for 8 total. It's got pedals with balls too! Normally you get that 1"x4" gas pedal or 2"x3" or something, where you put your heel on the floor and use your toes to hit the pedal. This pedal is seriously like 3"x12" and you use your whole foot. None of that rubber nonsense either, it's metal. The brake is smaller, but it's still like 3"x4" metal, not the usual 2"x3" rubber. The E-brake is rubber though, and the usual 2"x2". The gas pedal is nice, it gives enough resistance and has enough movement that I can slam my foot into it, none of that womanly 'slightly press on gas with toes' ****.

The car is the size of a small bus. Not many cars where you can put in a two foot high stack of 4'x8' plywood sheets without leaving the hatch open or using a roof rack, which it also has. The hatch is really awesome too. The back window goes down, and you can either swing it out to the side or fold it down like a pickup truck. Hell, the thing is pretty much a lowered pickup truck with extra seats and a roof on the back.

    More pics later.

Yeh? Ive seen those things do over 600k miles. Lets see your punto do that. Not to mention its tourque peak is below 2k rpm probably under 1500. Also those engines dont loose compression. If you want to pick an american engine you could always look at the 3.8L buick grand national motor. 340hp and 370lb of torque.

In any case its a station wagon from the 80's.

I checked a few out on Car Domain... one had >350k miles on it.

Hell, the thing gets 18mpg city 22mpg highway. Low, but not lower than a heavy V6 sedan.

Besides, it was owned by a truck mechanic. 9.5/10 condition. Oil changes every 3,000 miles. It's in damn fine condition. Except for minor cosmetic damage, a broken cruise control which was like 'why bother fixing it', a broken cassette deck which I intend on replacing with some nice Infinity stuff for cheap (I work at circuit city, so Infinity car stereo is like half price for me) anyway, and a small tear in the hose running into the carb, it's in perfect mechanical condition. The A/C compressor is new, the exhaust was replaced recently so it's real quiet, and it's very roomy inside.

The thing has plenty of torque too. Let's see your punto tow a boat. I know my car can.

im going to sell it though and get something smaller. probably an older VW golf. i love trucks and big engines, but it takes up way too much space in our driveway and costs a pretty penny at the pump.fun to drive though :D

I wouldn't buy a Punto at all, the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

No, i paid for half, the paid the rest, and insurance. *sigh*, some people are so naive, as well as exceedingly derogatory.

    An addendum...

307 cubic inches (5.0L)! I could fit an entire European car inside my engine compartment.

View from the front. It's so long that you can't see the tires until you get a decent distance from the car.

Goofy rectangular speedometer, no tach, and a stalk automatic.

In my 3-4 years here, it's the first time to see posts deleted as I watched. First the thread was on page 33, then it was back on 32, then it was halfway down 32...

QFT Piratetaco. Unless you can get the car insured under one of your parents and you as a second driver you don't have much of a chance ;)
