AAAHHHH!!! OS 9.1! Upgrade to 9.2.2. Deals with the hardware more directly making it more stable.

I have XP Pro on home and work PC. SUSE 8.0 on Web/Email server, and OS X on G3 Powerbook.

laptop : win98 (cos i still play rainbow6), freebsd, slackware, mandrake
    fileserver : freebsd
    www server : slackware
    free shells server : slackware

I will go back to XP when the next Service Pack comes out, to unstable for me. I crashed it plenty of times, but then again I do a lot of beta. I haven't crashed Win2kPro in the entire time I've used it I believe.

would it not make more sense to stay with 2K then?

IMO 2K is the best m$oft os around stable, fast and supports pretty much everything
