    The Cyberpunk discussion here!!!

the Cyberpunk project:in honor to this intriguer style;
half between fetish and biomechanical, with the taste of industrial style. here to begin the plan on this new mod.

"Cyberpunk" is born from the concept of the Htpc, a Mod of relatively small dimensions 25*25*18 cm, a system relatively little expensive with materials recovers to you from mine previous mods that I have taken apart, componets that I have at home.

The purpose that I have to do in this Modding is to realize a system:
    • more silent as possible
    • a compact system
    • use components of normal dimensions and to low costs, that I have already in house (motherboard mini itx excluded).
    • look like a fetisk latex suite with a spread of buns and corset laces. Dark and strong look, but however rich of thin decoratives effects, using some decoration techniques to you not commonly associated to the modding way of art. :thumb:

    This is a self-made chassis

The modding will be a policarbonate 3mm of thickness parallelepiped structure, assembled with L outlines of silver anodized aluminium, cuts off 45°,fixed with screws.

A kind of apparently simple structure, looked at more times in the world of moddding... but us I will give my personal touch you will see...

    Why?

It will not be transparent, but even painted too...

The 8 external angles of black painted stainless steel are fixed with a pneumatic riveting piler for giving to the structure more solidity. The structure will be assembled thanks to use of 104 screwsM3 , using particular dices... that they will act also as standing, the mod can be put on the side you choose. There is not a real front and rear.

    But now GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Mmm, cyberpunk. Are you going for the Neuromancer style cyberpunk or something like Blade Runner?

If you haven't, check out the game 'Anachronox' for inspiration. Also, watch Dark City.

More constructive (and significant :p) comments later when I get home from work.

At to the beginning it would have been a "the matrix" mod.
But who haven't do one!!!and green neon light don't ispire me, I prefere blue one. Use a similar style but not with ussually matrix elements as the code, green light, black paint, etc etc...

The name was because of my idea was to keep together elements of the cybernetic immaginary (as example electronic components), metal structure look, some elements of fetish style and a the punk-metal effect of buns.

"Cyberpunk" encloses well all these characteristics.

If you use a metal smooth-cut or scroll-saw blade with your jigsaw to cut plastic you usually won't have to clean the edges much. But when you do clean the edges all you'll need is and X-acto knife to scrape the edges and 600 grit sandpaper for sanding.

Yes, I usually use blades for metal (3 to 10 mm) on my jigsaw.
Finally some filing and sandpaper work (first 200 then 600) after cutting will do the job for me :) .

These L are of black plastic, only to try how the structure may fit.
That will be replaced with silver anodized aluminium ones.

    This is as buns fit.
The buns are used as acorn nuts for screws.

Decoration: false laser engrave effect on metal

How many times have you look at laser drawings on polished or chromium plateed metal, for me are wonderful.
Beautiful but costs are high... and above all the drawings must be in CAD format.
I have found a way to make similar hand made engravings, much simpler and less expensive, and last but not least I can make it during my universitary lessons :D !!!?

The beauty of a metal etch that look like laser one but with the freedon of drawing simply with this: the pencil

ok, this is a steel pencil...not a graphite one :naughty:

    The 3 plates:

You now say why "the sleep of the reason generates monster" of Francisco Goya is here.
Well,Simply because to make mine modding I have used the same technique of this print.

The result that is obtained printing mine are these.

But in truth these are pieces of mine modding. Create something modern with techniques of centuries ago.
"Techniques of etching" I study it at university, and simply I have used the laboratory in order to make them... beyond that prof me it has estimated also for the examination :cooldude: .

I have take some photos to the motherboard via epia Nanemiah 10000 and elaborated in order to evidence the tracks of circuits.

than etched with the acquaforte techinique.etching is made with acid on zinc.

    First step: polishing zinc pieces

to poilish I used instead of the sandpaper a piece of jeans with abrasive polish paste.
