    Matrix orbital sell displays with keypads like the one you saw. Very intuitive to use although you need to do some basic .ini editing in order to customise the menus...................You can edit the basic screen that is displayed then use the right arrow/enter key to navigate to subsequent menus.........either winamp controls/track details/system stats/playlists etc... however when using the controls menu you cant see the track title without going back which is a nuisance if you have loads of songs on random play (like me!!).

    Ask away if you want to know anything in particular..........:)

    I put mine in an enclosure.........

    I never this sort of thing existed besides nipping down to Tandy and building the whole thing yourself then programming it all, which to be honest isn't my cup of tea.

    I'm over the moon :rofl: :rofl:

    I suppose until cool case mods import them I need to buy direct from the manufacturer?

    Unfortunatly yes - best way at the mo is to import from matrix orbital themselves, this adds to the price quite a bit what with import duty and all.............makes them quite pricey :(
    Think mine ended up costing just under £100, but what the heck its sooooooo cool !!!!

    Do you have to pre-set up playlists and folders in winamp to be able to select/browse them?

    I think that's all down do LCD center... and as for the playlist question I think you can just browse through whatever is in winamp atm. Have you seen the review of this LCD here - http://www.bit-tech.net/?page=article&id=68

    Cheers for the link, mucho info and very useful for what I'm after. Maybe if I ever get my digital camera back off my mates dad I'll take pics of it linked up to my Yamaha AV amp chucking out some serious dB's :D

    Is it me my ISP but does the keyboard interface page work for anyone else? http://www.matrixorbital.com/products.htm

    As the display and control will be external to the PC I was thinking of maxxing my meal with a 4 line display and the control pad just to be flash :rofl:, anyone know if you can buy the same style keypad seperate and if the LCD Centre software works with a 4 line display? Site says compatible with any Matrix orbital display...

    Keypad page doesnt work here either mate...........yes LCDcenter does work with the 4 line displays. Playlist have to be inseted into a file in the LCDcentre folder..............in the form shown below............takes a while but its worth............you wouldnt want too many in there either as it can be a bit of a nightmare to navigate (especially on my 2 line display :()............

    Thought about a custom keypad myself and went to quite a few sites to have a look but in the end I decide to go for the one I knew was compatible...............might be worth emailing them or keeping an eye out for Henry from MO whos round here now and again..........
