You would be amazed @ what we can have produced. Just about anything that can be dreamed up can be put into production.
Some explanation... The main pod is fiberglass with an aluminum base that all of the components mount to. The entire main pod lifts off of the base to service the innards. The bubble top is smaller than the one used on Badassumption and rather than being powered to lift, like on its predessesor, it using a hydraulic cylinder similar to (but smaller than) what you find on a hatchback. The dome ring is 3/16" thick aluminum. The BaDactivity pod in front has the power button in the center and chasing LED's (genius of BitTech member extraordinaire, Starbuck3773T) that monitor HDD activity around the power button. This is a direct copy of the similar pod used in BaDassumption. The two tubes behind the BaDactivity pod are aluminum tube air inlets for the power supply. The reservoir is a modified standard reservoir (modified with an orange transparent bubble top). The optical pod is identical to the one I'm now building for BaDassumption and uses a SATA DVD burner. Its made of polished billet aluminum. The inline coolers coming off of the radiator are similar to the ones used as bulkhead fittings in BaDassumption. The radiator is a Chrome Xtreme and is fit with a shrouded 120mm fan behind it. Is it a buildable design? You betcha. It would be a slam dunk compared with its "father". I want to give Jazzle's SketchUp models a shout out... they were extremely helpful.
The font is called "Refluxed" you should be able to find it for free online. If not feel free to e-mail me and I can reply with it there. Thanks!
Thank you for the other submission! That is definately an interesting case concept! (if you could send the .skp to my e-mail that would be great. If you wish to hold on to them for the time being that is fine as well)
Alchemy entry from Joungne Hi Guys, time to reveal what I have been up to the last few days. I hope you like it @ Static Lullaby : I will email you all the highres renderings and some explanation with the design tomorrow. about the Ipoddock. Its a modular design so in its place their couldbe a lot of other modules like a passive design for cooling : a large heasink. Or just a plain plate so you get infact a reversed window. The side is a total window with a plate in it ;-) .... So much possibillities greetz, Joungne
Ok you suck man my images will look like **** compared to yours Nah just kidding they rock man. What program did u use for that?
Lots of other really nice submissions have been put in so far. While I have to admit Joungne has gone above and beyond in the detail of his artwork. We are looking at all apects of the case as a whole, and can envision the final work of many of these cases beyond what their images may or may not protray Everyone has a good shot @ this contest! 2 days left... let's get those last minute entries rolling in too!
other contests? I only see this now, so it is too late to make a decent design. I would be interested in doing something like this though. Do you plan any other design contests? Like for HTPC, barebones, ...?
Even if you could get in a rough draft of the concept you have, we can get a pretty solid idea of the design. We have MANY submissions in all formats. Some as simple as handdrawn sketches that were scanned in. If you have the time to get somethign done, feel free to submit your entry.
IM GOING IM GOING, I can only Sketch up so fast edit/ Does the It end At 12PM Tuesday or 12PM wensday /edit
That is indeed a very nice looking setup there! Could I trouble you for the .skp files? **note: we are only using any 3d renders sent to us so we can get a good view all around the designs and have a 100% full version of the renders**
So , I've managed to get 6 designs ready ... not 100% in detail because of the lack of time I'll submit my 3 best designs now going to look for a webhost.
