I don't see why you need onboard serial/parallel. Most people won't need them. I'm not sure how good they are, but you can get usb to serial/parallel dongles, which I'd actually rather use.
If you'd be so kind mista, either put a 9 Pin din connector that goes to serial on the back next to parallel (a wee round one that terminates in a dongle), or a reset CMOS switch. Also, can we get some optical out on the bracket?
look next to the IDE connectors Tulatin...thise two things to the left are the reset switces...(i think)
I wonder if an e-SATA connector would fit in that gap between the parallel port & the leftmost bank of USB/Lan ports?
Even if there's an onboard reset switch, there's still a degree of nicenexx to not having to remove the casing. As to the v.12 - *edits* ohhh am2 support. Still, can we have P4 and A64 holes with it? other "niggles" the dram slots are waay too close together. Can we have some space between each slot (~4mm) so that memory with bulky spreaders doesn't push each other around?
4mm is an AWFUL lot of space to ask for given the space Im working with to maintain that orientation; I can afford 2mm, which, if you actually measure, isnt too bad provided your RAM modules arent wider than 10mm.
Looking good Roto, just a few lil things, pararlell ports ? Are they really needed? I can find quite a few uses for Serail (LCDs, Vapochills, some game controllers .etc) but for paralell the only thing I can think is old printers, other than that im stumped :s. -Fr4nk
i dont use paralell since my old scanner and printer went to the trash. serial is more useful for VFD, LCDs, realy old mouse, old game controlers. they are all old stuff and you can buy a USB--->Paralell and USB--->Serial adaptors and i think they work fine........ the mobo is comming out fine, realy cool indead o dont understand what are the bottom most slots edit: RotoSequence update your signature you are at 12 and not at 10
then 2mm between slots please *edit* and possibly move the second set of SATA ports up? right now they'd sit below the power regs of many large videocards.
May i suggest he buttons not be in the middle of the edge, because some drives, cables etc can get in the way?
