well it would only be natural to post this mod on bit-tech since ive seen some of the most talented modders in here... so here goes: this is an antec performance 2 case, ATM i have modded a design in the sidepanel and front door. my objective for this is "mod it to look stock" if that makes any sence... by that i mean have a sleek, clean and elegant mod that resembles a stock case, but is far from it. here are the pics: please comment on this i would love feedback!!! for the full project log, check this out: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/?showtopic=64540&pid=644029&st=30&#entry644029
It looks good, although I wouldn't have chosen green necessarily. Only trouble is, its not that exciting, a bit of mesh here, a few lights, but you can buy similar in shops brand new. I like the mod though, well done.
is that mesh smothered in some sorta silicone/glue? i guess it works, but i think the features are too small in relation to the case
thanks for the beedback guys! with this mod i was going for the whole "sleeper" look, smooth, simple and clean. i chose the "window" (if you can call it that, its more of a light up logo) because i wanted something quite small. another thing is the quality of the cut though - from up close the sidepanel window looks laser cut. also, the front hole was cut via dremel, and sanded for an hours or so into a PERFECT circle. im not done on this case- the outside may be complete, but the inside is far from it. my intention is to hide all the wires, work on the front bezel (not door), maybe have a mesh mobo plate, etc. keep in mind that this is also my first mod . keep the comments coming!
3 other people saw the pics, so they work i guess... try this link: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/?showtopic=64540&pid=644029&st=30&#entry644029
Personally I like its simplicity even if perhaps a little too simple. Also like the use of a colour other than blue
I like it. It is minimalist and understated. You could add the name Reactor v1.0 to the logo somewhere, and remove the Antec logos/badges altogether for a smooth look. Something interesting could be hidden behind the top bezel (is there?).
thanks nexxo. i was experimenting in photoshop with text, more logos, etc on the case, and i did not like the results. it will stay like this on the outside for now... one problem i have is that the plastic door hinge cracked today, but epoxy + metal to reinforce it will do a nice job i'm sure.
